I know that starting another Baja Trip thread is nothing original, but we would like to document our trip here on EP and possible hook up with other Portal people while down here!
Team Benverly (Ben and Beverly Edmonson) got into Baja Dec. 30th. We went down around Agua Verde and waited for Paul and Heather May to arrive. We are now all sitting in Loreto ready to start our journey today. The pic's below will catch you up as to what Team Benverly did while waiting for their partners.
We have some good friends down around Mulege so we hung out with them for a few days until the wind arrived.
On the way down we had to do the regular stop in Gonzaga for some great fish tacos at Alfonso's!
This guy was trying to hitch a ride with us, but we just didn't have room. I don't think that Jackson and he would've gotten along anyways....
Got to camp by this killer Toyota 70 Series rig in Guerrero Negro where we stayed at the Malarrimo Hotel. They have great camp spots behind the hotel and hot showers! This is a very safe place to stay when doing this stretch.
Now using the Starbucks Via's and this is all I need in the morning for hot coffee, very simple. I'm sure others are already using these, I'm just a slow learner.
Team Benverly then headed further south almost all the way to Agua Verde and found some killer hot springs that are available at low tide only. The only way you can get into the rancho is also at low tide, glad the new Garmin GPSmap 478 has these on it!
We went about 5 days without seeing another soul on this beach near Agua Verde, we finally got to relax.....
This beach had a few token palm trees that I couldn't help but take a picture of.
Since we were on this beach for a week we found an old palapa and setup the big camp and kitchen.
We are now getting to put the new kitchen bag from Redoxx thru its paces, really impressive and holds the entire kitchen in just one bag!
Here is Beverly in her new kitchen, she loves the redesign that I did. It is very hard to make it look this distressed.
