I know that starting another Baja Trip thread is nothing original, but we would like to document our trip here on EP and possible hook up with other Portal people while down here!

Team Benverly (Ben and Beverly Edmonson) got into Baja Dec. 30th. We went down around Agua Verde and waited for Paul and Heather May to arrive. We are now all sitting in Loreto ready to start our journey today. The pic's below will catch you up as to what Team Benverly did while waiting for their partners.

We have some good friends down around Mulege so we hung out with them for a few days until the wind arrived.

On the way down we had to do the regular stop in Gonzaga for some great fish tacos at Alfonso's!

This guy was trying to hitch a ride with us, but we just didn't have room. I don't think that Jackson and he would've gotten along anyways....

Got to camp by this killer Toyota 70 Series rig in Guerrero Negro where we stayed at the Malarrimo Hotel. They have great camp spots behind the hotel and hot showers! This is a very safe place to stay when doing this stretch.

Now using the Starbucks Via's and this is all I need in the morning for hot coffee, very simple. I'm sure others are already using these, I'm just a slow learner.

Team Benverly then headed further south almost all the way to Agua Verde and found some killer hot springs that are available at low tide only. The only way you can get into the rancho is also at low tide, glad the new Garmin GPSmap 478 has these on it!

We went about 5 days without seeing another soul on this beach near Agua Verde, we finally got to relax.....

This beach had a few token palm trees that I couldn't help but take a picture of.

Since we were on this beach for a week we found an old palapa and setup the big camp and kitchen.

We are now getting to put the new kitchen bag from Redoxx thru its paces, really impressive and holds the entire kitchen in just one bag!

Here is Beverly in her new kitchen, she loves the redesign that I did. It is very hard to make it look this distressed.

Incredible pics Ben and Bev makes a great model.

Tell more on the Redoxx kitchen bag, any shots of the inside or what you are putting where? Their stuff is very tough and well made.

Also how is the solar working with the National Luna fridge & Powerpack? Everything play well together?

Thanks for not taking us with you, Vasi said she would have been perfectly fine joining Beverly sitting there on the beach. Looks like a great time, wish we were there.

Update from Team Equipt in Baja!

We have covered some incredible dirt tracks here in lower Baja. We finally got to do the dirt track cliff hanger from La Ventana to Los Barriles. I can port the GPS coordinates later for this track. Here are some pic's of our last few days.

IMG_6175.jpg

The dirt track along the coast from La Ventana to Los Barriles. Very remote and narrow. We couldn't make it in 2005, but this time no problemo!

Our remote beach camp near Agua Verde 2 days ago. We tried to drive from Agua Verde to the other side, the atlas shows a rode. It was a no go, the road has been gone for 2 years. Bummer!

IMG_6075.jpg

We at Team Equipt don't always drive.....

A little 80 love for my new hammock job!

Dezi running on the beach during our lunch break on some deserted beach.

Paul right after his grape soda exploded everywhere in his cab! We now call his 100 series the "Grape Ape!"

_MG_2983.jpg

This happens everytime we stop where other people are, lots of lookers and questions.

Well so much for the new great Sears Diehard Platinum debate. Our 3 month old cranking only battery died in Loreto. Had to get whatever we could find with reversible post. Also had to build a platform to make it high enough. Now we have to carry the old battery all the way back to the states for a warranty replacement.

Paul, right before he got buyers remorse....

A new use for our front runner roof rack, Bev loves her new hammock!

All in all a great trip so far and it has just began!! I will write everybody back when we get some down time. For now vamos!!
