I want it to be pretty snug. A zip tie would work perfectly but I don't want to have to get wire cutters out to open my tent up. Is there a such thing a reusable zip tie, or something that functions as such?

First night in the tent!
New Autana Ruggedized on my FJ and my old Hannibal with new Tepui cover on my buddies trailer in front. Wasn't quite able to zip the cover up all the way with two sleeping bags, two pillows, two fleece blankets and an electric blanket in there. Close though.
A little weather rolling in across the valley
A little snow overnight.
The annex takes a little while to setup, but made for a nice dry spot to hangout and cook in the morning.

That's a nice looking Autana Ruggedized. I've got the Kukenam version & am seriously upgrading to one of the new Autana Ruggedized Green that are due to arrive next week.
Regarding your snug cover, call Tepui in Santa Cruz & see if they have any lower zipper extension for the cover. Its about an inch wider than the stock zipper that comes on the tent and was offered as a option for those who need some extra room to carry bedding or annex inside the tent when closed.

Thanks for the suggestion, I got a roll of that gear tie that you can cut to length. I'll try that out next time I open the tent.

Yes, there are mesh walls or canvas walls available for the awnings.

Thats a good idea with 2x4s, I raised my Tepui tent another 5" to get the Annex higher because of the the water that leaks in around the zippers and the floor.
