Scott,
Tom is in Romania right now for work. He says that if someone presents you with two hookers as a sign of hospitality it's rude not to strangle one of them. Also, if you hit a gypsy with your Jimny, they are liable for any damages.
Just a few traveling tips.
Also if you try to log onto your bank accounts from a Romanian ip address you credit score in the States automatically tanks 150 points.
Bloody romanians:Wow1:

Even Hungary is quite modern.

However, we are just now in Romania, and things are getting interesting

Horse carts and bad roads.

We just witnessed a major rollover due to a hydroplane. Slammed into the ditch and ended up on the lid with significant injuries

---Phone post

No wonder so many romanians are filing for a job in Western Europe, and prefer to stay illegally in Europe rather than to go back to their 3rd-wordly country... :Wow1:

It's 9:48 PM in Istanbul and they are about 3 blocks from the Blue Mosque and 2 blocks from a really good restaurant that carries Buzzbag wine :wings:

Quick update: Safely in Istanbul. Turkish highways rival anything in the US.

Spent time viewing our first Mosque in the country. Impressive structure.

Istanbul is a fun city so far, driving has been interesting (fast), but good signage. We are in the historic area. People are wonderful so far. Nice hotel (we found one with a parking spot out front).

Ready to go our for some beer, wine and maybe a Kabob.

Istanbul is indeed wonderful, there's that unique atmosphere that makes you feel half in the West half in the East.
Enjoy your beers cause you well deserve them !!! :)
But be warned, don't get too late in bed, caus' the muezzin is likely to wake you up earlier than you expected tomorrow :Wow1:
Take good care of you,
Francoise

Leaving Istanbul this morning. Certainly a city I would recommend visiting. Although large, it is quite safe and reasonably clean. To see the Shah's palace was impressive. Conquests of this city are recorded to Alexander the Great.

On the road again after a day off in one of the most emblematic cities of the world, good move, Scott! Take care, and thanks for the feedback.
