what was the rego component
mines due in November and I do hope I don't have to pay for capt bligh's legacy

BTW the tip on insurance, join the CMCA and use their broker Ken Tame in melb
best rates youll get and insurance tailored for the lifestyle

everywhere else will just tell you its a commercial vehicle and charge accordingly

G'day bloke

The rego part was about $643 or so. Unfortunately the receipt was not itemised but i think I saw that bit at some stage.

Warm Regards

G'day Graynomad,

Just the CTP on mine was about the cost of your whole rego at $1251.00.

So next year it should cost me about $1900.00 for rego unless there is a price hike again.

Short answer... yes.
In fact I have to pay my rego this week too. I won't go into the details, but mine is actually registered as a motorhome now, so the cost for me is about $1150.
I know someone here that has an Isusu NPS that is registered in Victoria just as a truck, and he is only paying about $800
Did I mention that rego in the ACT is ridiculous???

Once or twice :)

In that respect at least I'm glad I got out, I do miss the place though.

Ah yes I remember your rego guy decided it was a genuine MH build. It's all up to personalities eh? I wanted to convert my 75-series Troopie a few years ago, it did have three of the things they require for a vehicle to be considered a camper but the fridge wasn't fixed down (Engel in a compartment) so technically it didn't comply. He asked what I do for a living to which I replied "software engineer". You could see the wheels turning, he obviously decided it was not going to be used as a commercial vehicle so he said OK.

HI our rego at 4495kg is $1114.50 inc CTP
If it was a motorhome 4000kg to 4495kg it would be $882.40 inc CTP.

Does anyone know what you do you need in QLD to get motorhome rego??

The camper cant be removable, you have to be able to traverse from the cab to the rear of the camper without getting wet, and it cant have a "load carrying area" except for a bike rack.

That's a huge limitation, half the campers around don't have a crawl through. What if you install an umbrella?

I just read that document

Is it a truck base motorhome where the living area cannot be accessed by walking through the cab?
My emphasis.

Note the "truck base", I wonder what they consider to be a "truck", over 4995kgs?

G'day blokes,

Thanks for all the input so far but I have now met a problem.

Spare parts... My truck is an '07 FG649 according to the vin and compliance plate. Everytime I have gone to enquire about parts they say there is no such animal... that 649's stop in '05 so no listings for '07. We found one listing for a FE649 in '07 for brake shoes but that was it.

Can someone give me the good oil... spare me the ******t and grief. Will most or all parts for an FE fit an FG and will parts from '05 fit an '07?

Also my compliance plate also says that my truck is a 500/600, where does this come into the whole equation and I also got asked is it a wide bodied model. To which I had to reply... well I'm a wide bodied model so maybe the truck is to accommodate me.

The answers to these and other perplexing questions need to be answered.

Warm Regards

Maybe you can remember back to the "not so squeezey" Fuso/Mitsubishi ads back in the day.
Both Fuso and Isuzu make, or made, a narrow body truck, but as far as I know, the wide body is the "norm".
The wide body cab should be about 1900mm/2000mm wide. Not sure about the width of the narrow body cabs, but they are tiny.

If it's any help... all the Fuso/Mitsubishi factory workshop manuals are predominantly for the FE, with small added sections specific to the FG.
To that end, most of the parts should be the same between FE and FG. I have a FG84, so I cannot help with specifics about the FG649.

Hi,

Shoe part number aftermarket is N1562 or BS1562 yes they are the same as the FE 320mm Dia and 75mm wide.
Drum part number BD3080
Just give me your Vin they are pretty essy to find stuff/parts for.

And yes it will be a wide body model.

regards

To confuse you even more, the 05 FE model changed to the new cab and the FG didn't change till 08!!!....so don't just take it for granted that an FE is the same as the FG
