I've been tinkering on a backcountry/tow rig for the last few weeks
Dude, my grandpa used to tinker. He never managed to tinker up anything quite like that!
Super cool.

Damn, I'm off portal for a day, and look what happens!!!!! Glad to see you on ExPo Nate!!!!
Have you considered a poptop that would cover just a strip down the center of the roof?
but that means we can start lookin into finding one!!:smiley_drive:

what did you use for front seats?
and do you still have the factory ones? are they any good? I've got vinyl up front and cloth in the back.
let us know lessons learned and stuff as time goes on if you would! Love it!
This is very inspiring.
I'm curious to see what you do with the pop up idea.
This is a mock up of what I was thinking of doing.
Do you have plans for water? Shower? Sink? Bed?
Your setup would be a great insprition to a disabled person who needed alot of room.
Great job and keep it up.
"I'm stuck in Washington State for a few weeks so no progress to report. It feels like mid-life-crisis time, but I already have a toy and just want to retire.."
You still in WA state? I just saw this thread again. If you are, and anywhere near NW Washington, we could meet up and have your conversion, a Sportsmobile and T'low's AstroMobile get together!
The interior looks great. Really clean conversion work.
Have you considered a side-hinged pop top? Seems like you could get more head room the whole length of the body with the top tilting up to one side. A Dormobile-type accordion fabric set up attached to it might work well.

Naterry,
Going with Chris's 44 set up, what is the ride like in your van, I know that everyone tastes are different but how does it do on road, normal driving? An off road? This is something I'm addressing with my build (when the funds are there), wheel travel, with Quigley there's not enough, but still more then SMB and rides much nicer then a stock SMB (my opinion). I'd like to hear your thought's...
You really do have one of the coolest rig's (idea's) I've seem in a long time, you really pulled it off, way to go!! I wish I had your type of vision.. If you ever make it down to the SLC area give me a heads up, I would thoroughly enjoy checking out your rig and grabbing a bite!
Happy Holidays and keep up the good work and posts!!!
Cheers

P.S. Where was that last picture taken, did you happen to get any info or pic's of that other expo rig parked by you?
