I saw u at the rally and really wanted to come talk to u about your truck. I think it's awesome. I walked by on sat. morning but I didn't see u. Then it was off to the f.s. roads. Hope to see u next year.

Amazing work on that bed! I like the black wheels (the gray idea is really cool too) but were they hard to balance with the bedliner on them?

One thing I noted though is that the LEDs seem to be on an angled section- LEDs tend to be more directional than regular bulbs and those thin strips kind of get lost visually in the black of the bedliner (meaning folks are less likely to notice them in a casual glance) so I'd make sure that folks behind you can see them well. Some side marker lights would make you more visible at night.

<---Safety/Paramedic guy who thinks of things like this way too much. :)

Thought about that as well. I acctually was happy to realize that they stand out more on the black bed then the aluminum one. The lights are quite bright so when your looking at a black rear end they really pop out. Side lights are still being considered. As for the bedlined wheels its a thiner coating on the wheels with less texture. So far no issues and the guys at the tire shop were impressed. Will see how it holds up.

Bummer! I was in and out chatting with everyone that was there. I hope to head that way again in the future as theres a lot of that area to explore.

Next time!

Sounds good!

Good to hear about the wheels too; I'd thought about having my factory wheels sprayed but was told it'd be hard to balance them so I didn't do it. Do you have any closer pictures of them?

Not the best photos but ones from earlier.
Ill try and take some more next time Im out working on the truck

Quick question for you. What is the measurement from the top of your flatbed to the top of your cab and do you have a lift kit?

No updates unfortunately. Since the last post I've changed jobs, gotten married, spent a month in thailand and I'm finishing up a model a hot rod. Need to switch gears soon and get back to this.

Well I finally got the Model A back on the road after 30 something years of rotting in a barn. It was a fun project but now its time to get back to the truck as camping season soon approaches.

Here's the plan. Its going to be an all aluminum (or possibly steel, depends on a few things) I'm going to cut apart the flippac I have an use the torsion bar, hinges, latches and tent (for the time being) The rest will be metal. The drivers side will have a flip down table/door which will allow access into the bed and a place to cook. The passenger side I'm going to do a large slider window. The rear will be a small flip down tailgate and a flip up rear door/window (not pictured) Here's a rough photoshop of the plan. The base will be about 10inches wider then the top but still very wide (wider then your normal flippac) I should be able to sleep two in the upper bed and have 2 in a lower cot and still have room for gear below them. I'm excited to get rolling on this part but it will certainly take more time then the flatbed did.

Should be pretty good cant wait to see the final project. In a perfect world pushing that rear axle back about 6"-8" would be great.
Cam-shaft.
