now grey

and it all matches... bonus

then wire the gauges
p6yIj4R.jpg

it's in... and not yet wired.... but getting there
JYLk6vo.jpg

opinion time... update the front grill to the 90/91 style? I have an opportunity to get those parts for a very reasonable cost.... not 100% fan of the style, but then again, money is money

the is the most important picture of today - clutch works great. had to pry on the throwout while my friend cracked the lines at the master.... not pretty but it works
f01FdcMh.jpg

then I couldn't shut the truck off when I got it into the shop... had to pull the plug and disconnect the battery
Faq6MwZh.jpg

when I got this, the ignition switch was temperamental - thought it was the switch (and, for those playing along, I commented then that the switch looked new)... it was the barrel, not it works like new
fntq5Rjh.jpg

then onto the billions of things left to do... focus now is the electronics so I have gauges and start the floorboard fixes
and then I show you a picture of a speaker
sb8Ff3Vh.jpg

seemed like it was a good idea to replace them since I had to remove one to run the wires for the pillar gauges
4GQvKzfh.jpg

this is not helpful, he thinks he is, but he is most certainly not
FHVcnNNh.jpg

time to start thinking what this is going to need to be/do when its done. sealed for sure but do I just make the top removable? do I rely solely on the rubber boot to keep crap out? (no)

but in that vein, I should consider what the center console will look like - stock? I'd rather be able to walk into the driver/passenger side but I'm not giving up storage....

She looks great man! So what are the next things left to get it on the road?
not much, really. Finish the exhaust, connect gauges, and figure out an intake (there could be a snorkel involved). my goals here is 'drives safely', then the interior, then paint it... once that's done, build a camper for it. But the 'drive it' is pretty close. Probably even have working a/c when it happens.

*forgot* I need to set the max boost.

It will be a year before it's painted and has a camper (especially since there's a tray overland bed for my wife's Colorado that's coming before the paint or camper)

tonight's update. Wiring.
spastic cat

I hate everyone.

in other news, because I'm not a YouTube sensation, I'm going to have gauges, a working speedo and insurance before it hits the street.... I know, I know, but I've never pretended to be an actor and I'm not going to start now

and EGTs

still need to decode the sensor on the crank... smarter people then me would have written this stuff down when it was all apart...wire is run but need to figure which of the two wires is sending the signal... probably, actually, doesn't matter - ground one, hook the wire up to the other... tomorrow.

kitty says "leak".... kitty is right
CfZRRash.jpg

weird part is I dunno why it's leaking there...
gzp97Kkh.jpg

first thought was 'failed seal' but it's not, it's somewhere around where the notch that allows oil back into the t-case.... hopefully I don't have to pull the driveshaft to fix it... heaven knows, I'll try some miracle glue first
also the turbo wasn't providing boost...
YWO7WMWh.jpg

otherwise, spent some time rearranging stuff... in my schedule, somewhere, I need to go do a firewood load... which means adding taller sides to my trailer... ah well, I'll rest when I'm dead
