Anchorage to Seward
Seaplane Base at Lake Hood Anchorage
Tidal Bore at Turnigan Arm (basically a wave that comes from Anchorage all the way up between the banks as the tide first starts coming in)

Cleaning fish from the boats. Although many recommended we work some fishing time in, we did not. We did however commune with the fish by having them to (for) dinner more than once!

Half of Anchorage apparently goes to Homer for the weekend. We finally found these cabins about 20 miles north from Homer for the night.

Back to Homer Sunday morning and then to Anchorage enroute to Haines AK via Canada
Coming into Homer from the bluffs. The Homer Spit is sticking out into the water at center of picture

Here are two of the four bald eagles we saw at the ferry dock. There was an old woman who used to feed them but that was outlawed. The laws grandfathered her in but she died several years ago. We saw one picture where she had over 20 in one shot. — in Homer, AK.

I think everyone in Anchorage headed back from Homer on Sunday afternoon. This backup on a 2 lane road held us up 45 minutes (some of it parked) and must have been 6-8 miles long. It was even worse than going into NoVA during rush hour or on Sunday. — at Seward Highway.

Prince George to Cache Creek BC
Smoke cleared for us as we moved south from Prince George to Cache Creek, BC. We stopped at "The Sugar Shack" for lunch at 70 Mile House and tried poutine. I feel my arteries crying now several hours later. But the maple syrup butter was also quite tasty. Should also mention that the temperature has climbed a bit. It's 104*F in Cache Creek. Whew!

Just a local library. Bring a book, take a book.
