Trash bag ideas

I've always liked the idea of using a trash bag inside of one of the larger waterproof/ dry bags.

I found a cheap $10.00 dry bag at Wally-World.
I then put a pull top kitchen bag in it.
I can strap it to my spare or toss it in the back of the Jeep without worrying about stinky leaks.
I put my recyclables in the onion back to reduce waste and all the back wash can drain out.

Dave , that is nice. Will the straps be adjustable for use on other objects ?

The straps are fully adjustable and can fit tires from 30"-35" in size. The straps are crossed in an "X" pattern for added insurance of the bag not falling off on the trail.

We tested the bag this past weekend on over 50+ miles of dirt roads and several hundred miles of pavement and we never had to adjust it once.

Very cool. Looks lke this could be one of those "I wish I would have thought of that " products. Best of luck with it.

I'm planning on releasing a canvas trash bag for your spare tire like they make in OZ. I have a prototype here and hopefully i'll be able to market it soon. They're not cheap to make, so im trying to get the manuf. cost down without effecting quality. This weekend i plan to do some testing.

I totally want one of these. Please let us know when their for sale.

Sorry for the delay guys. Making sure everything is good quality and still a reasonable price (not like the $100 Oz versions). I dont want to sell something that's junk.

I have 2 prototypes on there way to me, hopefully they'll be here beginning of next week. Once i approve them im going into production with them. The new version will be water proof canvas, thicker denier so it won't ever rip, stronger straps and much better quality than the one i first prototyped.

Thanks for hanging in there and waiting. Im shooting for a month out right now.

The canvas trash bags on the rear spare are pretty common over here in Oz (heaps of guys in our local club use them) and not too costly. They usually have a small compartment or flap on the outside that holds the plastic rubbish bags themselves and then have velcro closures and strap around the spare with adjustable straps.

Dave, good luck with this project. What is your target retail price for one?

I use a coffe sack. The burlap one.. put a trash liner (35 gallon) inside it if needed. And they are FREE!!! Go to a coffe house and ask iff you can have one of their coffe bean sacks, usually they will just give them to ya. My buddy has picked up about 20 or 12 now

Google "collapsible trash can", these things are pretty neat. The bigger ones take the 33-gallon bags, top zips shut and then your two feet smash the trash down to size. A couple of bungee cords hold the unit just about anywhere.

One warning though, through experience I have found having a sweet trash can causes people to just through their trash into it without thinking twice.

Good Luck,

I use the full size collapsable trash cans too. I love em. I put a couple rocks in the bottom to keep them from blowing/tipping over while deployed in camp. For in camp use there is nothing better IMO. I think I got mine for around 30 bucks from Gemplers. I still haven't figured out the best way to deal with the trash bag(s) after camp, or while travelling, but I am leaning towards the "large dry sack with compression straps" type of system.
