Yeah, been working hard on finishing the prototype and converting into CAD. Working with my metal fabricator to design/make all of the new metal parts needed for the sleeping platform mechanisms. They will be cut on a high-definition CNC plasma and then powder coated. I'm hopeful I'll have the main system over to Line X in a week or so. I'm also finalizing the design for the optional shelf above that will also attach to the fridge barriers on the Alpha model. It's been a ton of work. The floor in the Jeep is anything but flat, and the entire system needs to be tilted up at the front if you go with the sleeping platform option so the kicker can clear the center console. Spent 2 full days just working out the angles and getting all the shims just right.
Yuman- sorry, I never answered you about using the new slides on the Land Cruiser systems. I'm not sure just yet. I actually have already done most of a re-design to lighten the system up a bit, but I'm not convinced the weight savings is worth the cost of a full changeover. My customers who have the existing system love it, so I'm not sure that saving 30-40 lbs (total guess at this point) is going to bring a whole new set of potential clients. If LC guys were counting ounces they probably wouldn't put a 200 lb tent on the roof when a 5 lb tent works just fine. We'll see. If I get asked for it enough then I may. The very few people who have complained about the weight so far are people who would probably never purchase one anyways.
