haha let me test mines out this weekend and see if it holds up.
But here's a raw breakdown of material:
2" Angled Steel $22
1.5" Angled Steel $15
1.5" Flat Steel $12
HD Drawer Slides $16
Total Material Cost: $65 + ARB Tie Downs $25
Everything but the tie downs were from Home Depot. The Tie Downs are from Amazon. But they don't fit right, they're too wide. You could just get the right ones from Ironman 4x4 ( sierra expeditions sells it )

That's a lot cheaper than the $300+ everyone charges for slides.

sytfu510: Did you drill through the bed to mount your slide? And if you did, what did you use on the underside?
yeah, at that price it's almost another fridge! lol
Yes I drilled two holes in the back of the slide and one on the side of the rail. On the under side I'm using washer with locknuts.

How are the TF51s working out size wise? I just need a fridge for my son and I. Torn between the 41 and 51. We're typically only out for three to five days.

The foot print isn't any bigger with the 51 and the price difference is also minimal. I would go with the 51

Yeah, that's the only reason I haven't bought one. Despite three sizes, they all have the same large footprint.

Just ordered the TF-51 today and the website shows them as being back ordered. Hopefully dont have to wait too long. Also ordered the transit bag from Sierra Expedtion.
Edit: Just got a phone call from Truck Fridge that the TF-51 is on indefinite back order. They also explained that if the fridge does become available again, the MSRP will increase. Damn....

Yeah, I just ordered the 41 and that appears to be in stock still. Already got a confirmation email.
Mine arrived yesterday. I was worried it would be too small for me and the wife - but looking at it now I think it will be just about perfect.

Update- I spoke with Terry at TruckFridge today. He said the TF-51 should arrive the 2nd to 3rd week in March, and that the price will remain at $529.00 (plus shipping). TF-41 are in stock and ship the same day as ordered.
Thanks to all the posts in this thread. They seem to be a good fridge at a reasonable price.
