UJOR Build Thread

Chris,

Is the tie rod on the 2004 axle above stock? I like the straight tie rod vs my tie rod that dips down in the middle. Any idea what thread size/pitch the tie rods are?

Jeff

It has the RSC upgrade that uses Dynatrac knuckles. I'm not sure of the pitch. If you want a straight tie rod for the 99-04 axle, the trac bar bracket will have to be removed for clearance.

And here's a teaser, what we've been working on today.....

I just noticed that the 10.5" you are building has both calipers on the rear of the axle, my 10.5 has one on the front, one on the rear. I also happened to notice the other day when browsing ScoutKid's thread that his 10.5" had a flanged output, whereas mine has a yoke. Whats with all the differences? Do you have any preference with any of the changes? Do you know what years/engine configurations got what axles?

A quick google search tells me that the calipers on different sides might have only been in the 99 model year, though I thought the axle I got was from a newer truck...

Correct, you have a 99 axle.

I know!!!!! The truth is that I've been so busy I haven't touched them. Unfortunately, my toys/projects come last! I hope to have a little bit of time later this week or over the weekend to finish them up & get them to powder coat.

The SMB is done, and left the shop yesterday. Drives great! Here are the specs: 06 E350 6.0 SMB, UJOR 4" conversion with all the goodies. American Racing Wheels, BFG AT KO's, Bilstein shocks, and we also made some engine mods. Say goodbye to the EGR cooler & we installed a new engine programmer. That will help this 6.0 get down the road a little quicker & more efficient.

Hey Chris, the van looks great! Did they install a TransferFlow tank on that van? If they did, the tank strap bolts NEED to be changed to 7/16 bolts. Can’t see it any of the pictures.

Oh, sorry, I didn't explain. Back in those days SMB used bolts on the T/F tank straps that would snap the heads off after a while. They have a bulletin about changing the bolts out to 7/16 -14 TPI . I’ll look around to see if I can find my copy of it. :smiley_drive:

Here's something that we all need for our desk :D

I just had these made up for the holidays, neat little holder for envelopes/etc. These little things are stout! I have limited #'s, and they're split between black & green powder coat. Get em before I run out!!!!!

(I only have 14 total of the Jeeps)

not to hijack the thread but, I had a TF tank put in my van (not by SMB ) when a local shop here in Placerville, ca. converted it. I was wondering if I had something to worry about.
