Very interesting.
Those last pics, especially the interior ones, remind me of 2001 A Space Odyssey.

:) :) :) :)

I like that a lot!

What kind of wheels are on the truck? I like that style, and can't find them in the US, but a name might help my search.

It looks wonderful. Could you show us the interior shots with the top up? I am trying to understand where you have the bed. Also is this for a two person, or for a single person system?

Thank you very much, I very much enjoy your truck's style.

Most interesting. Curious what that wall material is and how it fastens together without framing.

Tried going to their site, for more info, but it crashes on the ipad once you access "cabins off road", which is where their models are listed. Works on the desktop fine.

The kitchen etc is the back wall plus space opposite the door. Dinette with table in the rest of the space. Table likely lowers to convert the dinette into a bed.

Would love to see more pictures and/or video of the interior and exterior amenities and storage spaces.

what that wall material is

Looks like what we call "MonoPan" (the two lower layers), a polypropylene honeycomb composite sandwich panel that can be glued or welded.

EDIT: It's Nida-Core, same/similar to MonoPan.

But then there's this

That's a fibreglass/foam panel.

Either way you can glue the panels and you don't need a frame but I too would like to know more as I'm about to start a build with this sort of material.

Rob Gray,

Back in 2011 they had two earlier posts explaining their construction methods in the pop-up section.

For a US version I keep wondering about 1.5" extruded polystyrene sandwiched between .25" PVC foam (Divinycell). The walls, floor, roof to be epoxy fiberglassed at the joints. Their version is spray coated with polyurea inside and out which they show in a video and is very tough. Lots of amazing videos out there showing how a polyurea coating holds things together (Line-X spray-on is polyurea but costs around $10. per sq ft last time I checked).

For a quick, easy, less expensive finish I was wondering about using StyroSpray 1000 as it can be applies with a brush. Finish with brush applied Monstaliner over the StyroSpray.

Rob,
I've always been amazed at your trucks.

Thanks for those links Greg, I'll have a look now.

I actually spent the last day or two thinking about this and decided that if I embed timber in the edges then add a length of "quad" (or just plane the corners myself) I can get rounded corners, something I want because I don't like square and you have to cover square with alum angle or something.

Then bugger me if I don't find this pic on the Uro site

Exactly what I was thinking so now I know I'm not crazy and the idea should work, adding a carbon fibre mat (which I assume that is) is a good idea.

That leaves the finish, I love the look of the polyurea coating but the $10 per sq ft might be an issue, I'll be phoning around today about that. I was not aware of StyroSpray so thanks for that, it may be easier to apply but doesn't appear to have the rough finish which would be good to hide things like the glass mat on the corners.

I've always been amazed at your trucks.
Thanks, stay tuned another on the way but this time small and simple :)

Ok I have a good handle on how to do this now, I'm well happy with the build process but the stumbling block is the cost of these coatings, I'm getting guesstimates of $2500 to spray just the camper and same again for the truck. Yikes!

I have found cheap DIY stuff but even the salesman told me he didn't think it was suitable, mostly because it collects the dirt and cannot be properly cleaned.

At this point good old paint might have to do. I do remember seeing some nice paint in a motorhome storage bin years ago, the search will continue.
