What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

I fixed my sunroof, though putting it like that makes it sound like I did a lot more work than I actually did. I took an old toothbrush, and cleaned all the grit and gunk out of the threaded dealies that move the glass, then lubed them up with white lithium grease. The sunroof moves smooth as silk, now.

Has been some time since I checked in, but I've been gathering parts for Pearl. The service body is sitting on the chassis now, and I've picked up some 35" tires and bling for her.

Took it on an adventure, ended up getting stuck in a hole that was deeper and soupier than I'd expected.

Its a monument to bad decisions.

Building a sleeping platform/simple storage system. Any ideas on how to make it fold put over the middle seats and be sturdy and supported ?

Had to change the valve cover gaskets on the 1990 LWB. Getting the aftermarket rubber gaskets to stay put in the valve cover channel is a royal pain in the :shakin:, I had to put some gasket shellac and it helped some.

The things I hate the most when working on my 1990 LWB: valve cover gasket, removing/installing the radiator fan 4 nuts.

Tried but couldn't post pics

Do have any pics of what you did, mine is in need of it bad and I'm not sure what to clean. I've tried cleaning and lubing the rails but it's still not great. Did you clean with it open or closed? Thanks.

towed it back from Bishop to Walnut Creek after it died above 10k feet w/electrical issues on the North side of Coyote Flat. Can now say I have coasted my Montero down crazy steep (well, it seemed that way) trails with no power brakes or steering. Pucker Power!
Time to dig into FSM.
Died, no warning. Crank, no start. All fuses and relays check out. No 'check engine' light when turning key to on position. Swapped ecu out with another Montero on the trail, and ecu checked out. OBD2 port won't link to rest of the car. Had an Ultra-gauge plugged in but after car died it wouldn't get past boot screen. Tried two different code readers and both responded with 'link error'
First time Montero crapped out on me. :ar15: Back on the trail soon, mark my words. :smiley_drive:

Wow, that's no fun. I'm really interested to hear what this problem turns out be, keep us posted and good luck!

Repaired drivers side rear door lock actuator. I discovered that a hair dryer releases the dust barrier adhesive like magic, don't cut the plastic! Reinstall the same way by heating and working it back into position.

bikerjosh,

What was the issue with your Monty? Just re-noticed this thread and I don't believe I've seen you post an outcome. Maybe you have. Anyway, I hope you got it up and running easily enough.
