What is it about your truck that you like so much?

While I have tried to sell my beloved, It really has been the best and most reliable travel companion I've had to date. It has never left me stranded or stuck. Though it seems a little bit big for my liking, I think there is something to it's size or maybe it's just so darn well balanced that it has yet to flinch at the trails or obstacles that were challenging in past rigs, I'm always surprised. I'm no rock crawler, drag racer,or a mud bogger, I'm a wanderer but I see a little of all that from time to time:sombrero:. I always get into situations that leave me thinking "What did I get myself into now? It's not going to be fun backing down this." But my faithful little Taco seems to claw it's way through like a good little mule, without show or spectacle.

My girlfriend likes to say, "It's built just like you." (And, yes, she loves the truck, too.)

I love my truck because it's an extension of who I am. Not too unlike a child.

I think there were a lot of great points to the ownership brought up that I could repeat but won't.

I love having a Tacoma that sticks out here in the heart of GM country. The wife used it a month or so ago. When she got home she asked "Does everyone always :Wow1: look at your truck?".

Its nice to have something different from all the Chevy pickups and Pontiac Grand Ams running around here.

What makes you keep your truck instead of getting something else? What does yours have that you like so much that you won't get rid of it? Be sure to include a pic of your rig.

• It’s paid for.

• Relatively low miles for a 2000 model – Maybe 69k miles. Basically a garage queen between trips. Lots and lots of miles to go on this truck before replacement.

• Size – I prefer smaller vehicles. And importantly to me, it fits in my garage.

• It’s a Toyota ~ i.e. reliable.

• As equipped, it’s an oasis come the end of the day. Comfortable and with most of the amenities that makes me self-sufficient and even feel a bit pampered.

• Offhand, nothing currently manufactured makes me think “Oooh, I gots to get me one of those!” Not once that I can recall that I thought something else would serve me better.

• It’s paid for.

It's never let me down. Goes the direction I point it.
Exactly what Pete said. Soon to be paid in full. All the modding is done. Takes me to the place I want to see - no matter how remote - which is the reason I bought the rig originally.
Someone also mentioned : it is a Toyota = reliable & capable.

-Compact size
-Trail capability
-IT'S A TOYOTA (that matters more then you'd think...)
-It's built tougher then 99.9% of all 4wd's out there.
-It's simple and utilitarian
-Massive ammounts of ground clearence
-a near perfect wheelbase.
-again... IT'S a TOYOTA!!!!!!!!
-Every time I get in it I feel like I'm back in Australia heading out to look over the cattle station.

The list goes on and on... I've always wanted a 1st gen 4Runner or an Extended cab truck of the same body generation. I found this baby for $1500 sitting in my buddies driveway and bought it the next day. Added a new clutch and off I drove for 100K of abuse before I finaly replaced the old and un-loved 22RE (my buddy the PO is admitedly NOT a car guy and the truck showed that...) with another bone-stock 22RE. I've never been happier with a vehicle in my life. I love my Toyota and I would NEVER buy anything else.

Cheers

So many reasons... It's paid for, it fits my needs, it's simple and effective, it hasn't depreiciated in value since the day I bought it over 3 years ago. ('course, I got a good deal) RELIABILITY! It will last a long time and will be easy and cheap to maintain, (only has 60,475 miles on it as of today) I think it looks good, it's my favorite body style of the tacomas, alot of aftermarket parts availible for it because it's a popular vehicle, yet alot of them are personalized to fit the needs of each owner, thus, I never get tired of seeing them on the road. :smiley_drive:

I could go on for a while about what I like about my truck, I could probably list the negatives on one hand, and all of those would be very nit-picky things.
