Well, I am really lucky.

I was on the phone with Steven Lutz at Rugged Rocks discussing a few things when I suggested sending pictures of my whole Ironman bumper debacle to Ironman so they could develop a better fitting bumper for the NA spec D22. Well, as it turns out, Ironman 4x4 has completely pulled out of North America as of February first. Meaning my getting my refund and return squared away was literally just under the wire. Had it taken another 5-10 days, I'd have been out nearly a thousand dollars with no way to recover it.

I'm pretty shocked to find out Ironman pulled out of the market altogether. There seemed to be a boom in the popularity of their products. A lot of specialty shops started carrying their stuff and people were loving it, all within the past year. Now they're gone.

Wow that bites, at least you got out while you could! Just glad I didn't order the ironman suspension I was thinking about and went with ARB haha

What kind of Nikon did you get? I'm using a D80 with a sigma 17-55mm f/2.8 lens and I love the simplicity!

Lucky on the Ironman stuff. When I heard they pulled out of NA, I sighed relief as I almost bought their shocks instead of the Bilsteins.

It's a D3100 with two Nikkor lenses, an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and a 55-200mm f/4-5.6. It's a great deal at right around $500. For that price, with two Nikkor AF-S lenses, you really can't beat it. It's designed as an entry level camera, but it's got a lot of higher end features that made it stand out. Essentially, it's nearly the same camera as the D3200, except it's only got a 14.2 megapixel sensor vs the D3200's 24.2. Beyond that, it's the same. Which I don't mind, because I'm not going to be enlarging the pictures enough for it to be noticed. I can shoot full 1080 HD video with it too. It doesn't have an external mic jack, but I don't mind. It's a great system for what I want to do.

I spent a lot of time researching different cameras before I settled on which one. I've always been a Nikon fan, but I looked into offerings from Canon too. I also looked at the PEN series from Olympus. Basically, it came to the fact that for the price, there isn't a better camera on the market. I'm really impressed with what it can do even after only a few minutes of playing with it. Very happy with it, and highly recommend it.

Wow, no reasoning? Guess they just weren't making money

Nobody has been able to get a straight answer. They just upped sticks and left.

The worst part is that they left one of their own guys high and dry. They main guy making everything happen in North America had a booming business for a while, and he decided to move his family and his inventory from New Jersey to a larger facility in California. A few weeks later Ironman pulled out of North America. He's now in a new city and out of a job, with his family. That's pretty crappy, huh?
