Ha ha its funny your seriously thinking of changing from your YJ to a WJ now...........i did exactly the opposite!
I built my WJ for rockcrawling and quickly got tired of the single purpose nature of a rock truck. Then a YJ fell into my lap for a good deal so I kinda went a new direction. I do think a WJ is a better platform for "expedition" travel but for me there is a certain character that you loose when you move to a WJ. Never got the "Jeep wave" when I drove a Grandy..............
For lift options I really like a 2-3 inch lift with some Rubicon JK tire/ wheel take-offs. A friend of mine has them on her Grandy and they look great! Also I strongly reccomend reinforcing your lower control arm mounts. I have helped repair three WJ's now that have had bent or cracked mounts. One of mine ripped nearly off on the drive home from a wheeling trip......death wobble from hell at 70+ MPH. Its worth the $30 (plus having them welded on) for that extra piece of mind.
