Engine is good, the 4.5 litre six is known to go forever. Why 80 series axles? The front diff is one of the weakest i know of.....

I jack the wheel off the ground, spin the wheel while adjusting (you have to jack both sides off the ground when doing the rears, LSD...) and the wheel stops upon contact. dont just rock it back and forth, spin the wheel... do one wheel at a time, do both cylinders before moving to next wheel...

Sounds like a 637 with the 4.2, they go awesome with an aftermarket turbo!!! the 4.2 does okay, we had them with 900/16s on Fraser, unstoppable in 1st gear 4x4 high range on sand!!!

I've never seen one broken...Transfer is the weak spot, but even then.... I've only ever seen clutches fail (pressure plate), Transfers just start making heaps of noise.

in my experience, if you have an automatic, dual transfers are useless on a substantial truck.
