SO this one has me stumped. Its my buddies 2008 LR3 with 112K miles.
I've been helping him out with it. We installed a coil conversion kit on it since the whole system was toast from the previous owner.
Since then we have been able to drive it, since its not sitting on the bump stops...
I live at 4500 feet above sea level. It's not smoking and has a lot of power
I'm also using a 700R4 and NP241. I have 24 axles. I think it'll be fine for the power output.

I'll just leave this here. I'm about 95% done. Just need to tune the injection pump better and adjust the transmission linkage better.
Here are some sound clips. Enjoy.

Utah, is pretty easy to get titles for almost anything. I can let you use my address if you'd like. Then you can transfer the title over to Komifornia.
You'll just have to have a VIN inspection performed by your local DMV or police office.
I've been cruising around town today in it running errands. I'm using a really long pick to reach down to the transmission to change gears. From park to reverse, neutral and then drive. It kind of sucks.
But its fun as hell to drive. I think I need to turn the fuel and the idle up. But...
My list of things to finish. I am going to work on atleast 3 per day until it's done.
I also got the back half of the exhaust finished up today.
Sounds really nice. Sounds like a healthy v8 should.

I got the old girl all back together last night. It took a little work to get the air out of the system. But once it finally fired it ran much quieter than last time.
It was about 30 degrees last night when I tried. So it didn't want to run too bad.
Also ordered a lift kit. So I should be...
I got the "new" injector pump. It out of 3/4 ton GMC military CUCV truck. I pulled the old one out already. Picked up some new intake gaskets and started putting it back together. I may advance the pump a little touch.

I sprayed some MAF cleaner in it today and it fired right up. So I dropped it off the casters and drove it around the block. It's outside for the first time in over a year.

I did some googling, but I didn't find anything. All I can tell is they stuck a cone filter on it and a hole in the fender with some mesh. It won't be crossing any rivers that way. The Range Rover engineers would not approve.
It's a 1995 LWB. 4.2. It'll be restored this year.
But this one is weird.
Anyone heard of this performance upgrade before. Trust me there's no performance right now.

So to answer a few questions.
I didn't rebuild the engine. Funny enough, I think the injection pump just died. It won't start now. LOL. I'm really not mad, I'm going to have some local guys rebuild it. I have an electric fuel pump with a regulator. I know its working fine. So, I'm...
I threw a belt on the engine so i could run the water pump and alternator. Its running pretty good. Although its pretty smokey. Im not sure if that's because it sat for about 10 years before I bought it. But it seems to idle and rev pretty good. I got it up to temperature. The electric fan...
Finished the exhaust for now. I may extend it all to the back later. Depending on how annoying it is. But right now it sounds pretty good.

I got the exhaust about half way done. It took a couple hours to get this far. But I think it came out pretty good.
I ran out of shielding gas so I had to stop.

Things are coming to a head.
I have wired the fans for he radiator.
Changed the tranmission filter and filled it.
Filled the engine and radiator with water. Found a leak, sealed the leak, filled with more water.
Revamped the fuel filter location.
Just need to do the following:
Fill the...
