It was something like 177,000 miles.
I towed my giant travel trailer to Colorado and back with that. The transmission temps never went over 180f, even when I was driving into a 25 mph headwind and was reving at ~4000rpm to maintain the speed limit FOR SIX HOURS STRAIGHT!
I had an o2 sensor go...
Your main problem with the current 2wd van is lack of power when off road at slow speeds? I would think going to a proper 4wd with a two speed transfer case would make a world of difference.
I looked into it briefly. They seem to show up on trucks when they arrive at dealerships? Some guys say the dealer can keep them, some say they have to go back to GM for a $1000 core fee. If you’re looking for a set it helps “if you know a guy”. Lol
I’ve had my ranger for about a month now. The only benefit over a f150 was I was able to get a two year old truck for 26k.
The worst thing is the 18 gallon tank at 20mpg.
In the auto position the front axle will engage but the transfer case stays in 2wd until slip is detected
That being said the noise could still be coming from any of the 4wd components I think. Have you checked fluids and checked for grease fittings on the driveshaft?
Alright, thanks for the replies.
The question still exists however. The truck needs a wire ran from the battery to the seven way. There is no wire currently there for the task. I can run any size I want to. What size would you use? I don’t mind spending more on wire if it works better.
I have...
My new to me ranger doesn't have a seven way RV style trailer plug. I have to run a wire from the battery to the new plug I'm installing but am unsure of the size. I hear talk about how the factory wiring doesn't do much to charge the trailer batteries. The kit I bought comes with 10 or 12 gauge...
The Ranger5g website has a lot of info on these trucks. I don’t pay attention to who’s running what lift though since I’m probably staying stock height.
