As an RV tech I had a customer repair a leaky P trap with flex tape. It wasnt until I pulled the tape off that the drip started. Must have worked.
Eternabond is the best stuff going but its expensive and I don't know if it's food safe or whatever.
Another advantage of HD over a half ton is sometimes a lack of dod or afm which can be problematic and the repair of which can negate any fuel savings $ the half ton has.
We’ve got the bunkhouse version in our shop for a bad 12v fridge(no surprise) and everyone is impressed with the suspension. It still has rv build quality though. The trim around the skylight popped off right away and the door can’t be closed easily from the inside.
When I had my ‘17 forester I think I remember that the rest of the world “ROW” forester had a full size spare. I think it required changing the foam piece that locates the spare in the spare well.
Interestingly on my 19 ranger the factory wheels are steel but the spare is some weird aluminum...
This comes to mind. A little older than what you had in mind though.

I’ve done every trick in the book, even using the power steering(not effective at all).
Finally got it off with a big boy oxy acetylene torch and two guys trying to wedge chisels between the hub and knuckle with a 3 pound hammer and sledgehammer.
The bearing was red hot at times and didn’t spin...
I guess the mini trucks would get better fuel economy than the midsize. Recently I've had a couple of people ask what I get for MPG's with the Ranger(probably thinking of downsizing) and they're always disappointed when I say it's about the same as the f150.
My mom finally got rid of her ‘04 Trailblazer she bought new. She was gonna get the crosstrek until I told her the Outback has near twice the towing capacity. Probably basically the same fuel economy too.
