    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

If I keep the bumper, I’ll keep the winch as is. I’d only upgrade if a went to something like a Buckstop. I’m highly conflicted on that though. I like the clean install and lower weight of the factory option, but I’d like protection to improve continued driveability in the event of an animal...

    2021 F150 vs F250

I didn’t consider the smaller motor. It’ll hold a flatbed and Hallmark K2 full time. I figured the mileage would be similar, and opted for more power.

    2021 F150 vs F250

I skimmed the whole thread and didn’t see the link I’ll post below. If it has been, my apologies. BTW, having run out of capacity on a light duty with just a FWC shell, I opted for a F350 7.3/4.30 Super Cab...

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

Mine is a 7.3 gasser. If I swap it out though, might as well go a little bigger.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

yea, I think if I were to abandon the current setup, I’d upsize the winch too.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

I have to get specs from Ford, but I think they had to make the mounting plate smaller and thus the bolt pattern different to get it to fit. I know it’s not a commercially available product.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

That's my problem. I ordered a factory winch and it's too late to cancel it. It's integrated into the factory bumper. Not sure what my options are at this point.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

Unfortunately, the thing that makes Ranch Hand attractive, a second mount point, makes it incompatible with the factory winch. They use the same holes.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

Is it a full bumper and guard, or just a guard?

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

I ordered a F350 and elected to get the factory winch. I like the clean install and reduced weight. After it was too late to change the order, I realized I probably should have done an aftermarket bumper and winch as it's a more robust combo for animal strikes. Alas, too late. So, does anyone...

    I don't like sleeping in a bag. It's why I have a camper. :ROFLMAO:

    Convict lake cold weather lessons

I had to switch propane tanks at 2AM on a 15° night once. What a rude way to wake up! ?

    Tire Options

Based on what I could get, I ended up with Open Country A/T IIIs in 35 12.5r17E. They’ll live on black Method 701s. Method says they’ll fit, so we’re moving forward.

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

Even though the C/T might have been the better choice, we ski a lot. Having the snow rating keeps us from having to unnecessarily chain. We ran Wildpeaks in the past. Like that tire too, but the supply chain is empty right now. Liquid Spring...well if a F350 conversion is anywhere close to...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

I know this isn't on the budget lines, but I considered ordering a new cab and chassis before I ordered a complete truck. There were options I wanted that I couldn't get that way, but more importantly, the money I would have saved, would have been eaten to make it road legal to drive to CO for...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

I’ve learned about that animal collision technique from a MC riding friend. I’m not sure though I could do it, not for lack of thought, but for habituated reactive responses. I need to practice! As for the wheels and tires, 17” Method 701s with Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs in 35 12.5r17E will be...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

Admittedly, I don’t know much about suspension. I do understand that higher speed roll mitigation and slow speed articulation are at odds with one and other. How does your setup work for high speed swerves, say avoiding an animal, with no sway bars.

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

I've located a very experienced, brand agnostic suspension guy, relatively close to home. YEA! He's a dealer for all the big names, including Carli and Deaver. So, If you were building a Super Duty ala carte, knowing it would carry 2000ish pounds 99.9% of the time, how would you do it? I like...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

If I could do that, I would! In the absence of any skill on my part though, we ordered a Bowen. Brent does very nice work, and it’s so close to Hallmark that the integration should be very clean.
