F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

who is doing your flatbed?:D i like the idea of adjustably. I was intrigued by is being automated, but not by the cost or decreased reliability. I generally drop pressure when I’m off road anyway, so what’s a few extra knob clicks? I’ll look into that combo. (y)

My tire guy is worried that 17s won’t clear the super duty breaks well enough. ?

Then there's the question of size. I know the width question is controversial in overlanding, but for a F350 with a fulltime camper, would you go 35 12.5/R18 (12.5 wide) or LT28575R18 (11.5 wide). I had to switch to 18 for brake clearance.

The only reason I was excited about the 3 peak, is that there are times when chains are mandated, but not really necessary in CA and OR where you can avoid them if you have snows on. That said, if the RT is better all around, including in the snow, I'm all ears! How is it in the snow or do you...

That's COLD! My Wildpeaks might have struggled too. In Oregon though we were in the snow in all conditions 3 days a week, and they were fine. We used to always swap out. I'm trying to avoid that, but also realize that nothing that will last 50+K miles will be as good on hard pack and ice as a...

I know it's a bit like asking favorite ice cream flavor. :ROFLMAO: Most haven't tried all three anyway. There's a lot of confirmation bias toward what we already have. That said, knowing that the K02s are pretty week on snow really helps.

My Wildpeaks are pretty good in the snow. They're not as good as studded Hakkapeliittas, but I don't think anything is. They're actually better than the dedicated Toyo snow that I tried a few years ago (I think it was call Observe). It was truly bad. Guess K02 can be eliminated. We're in the...

We're building a rig right now around a 2022 F350 Super Cab. I want to upsize to 35s and have a winter rated tire. I currently run Wildpeak AT3/Ws on our current truck and like them a lot. They come in the size I want, 35 12.5/R17. Two others do though too that seem to get a lot of love, K02 and...

    Flatbed conversions in North America?

I'm building a new rig as we speak. It will be based around a F350 Super Cab 6.75' bed. It will carry a Hallmark K2, but with the elimination of the standard bed and adding a Bowen Custom flatbed, I'll be able to run the full 8' camper, with LOTS of outside storage, no goofy overhang and still...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

The Icon CDEV is intriguing. It purports to combine much of what I like about Liquid Spring, mainly on the fly adaptability, with the simplicity of coil overs. ?

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

The funny thing is we're pulling the bed, and thus the sticker off anyway! :ROFLMAO: I wanted the FX4 for the skid plates (which might be lame), hill descent feature (which may also turn out to be lame), but mostly because I thought the E rates BSW tires and wheels would be easier to sell once...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

Sweet! Cool Rig! I figured I'd do exactly what you did, but add both the upper and lower steering stabilizer and a Deaver, since they're close to us. I can't remember who it was, but someone at CJC or Carli said they didn't recommend the sway upgrade with a camper anyway. We do similar...

F350 Suspension with Flatbed and Fulltime Camper

I have a couple of other posts (Best Platform and Liquid Spring), but this is sufficiently different enough that I think it warrants it's own post. If you haven't read the others, the truck is a 2022 F350 Super Cab (7.3/4.30) with a 146" wheelbase. It was ordered with the camper package...

I'll research that more. Electronic leveling for off-road, while parked is more of a luxury than a necessity. I level just fine right now without it. It's just a pain. I do it not for a refrigerator or anything mechanical. I'm sensitive to sleeping off level.

    Liquid Spring

This whole exercise has got me thinking that bags that are adjustable on the fly might be the way to go. I'd previously ruled that out due to the complexity.

I think if there‘s a fluid leak, we‘d be limping out on the stops. That’s a real concern.
