I have Toyos on Methods and have never had any vibes. I got some Centramatic's from a guy for $100 and really couldn't feel any improvement. The Toyos have always been easy to balance according to the tire installers at Discount.
Steel bends and doesn't crack like alloys but they are heavier by far. I had the forged alloy rims on my '07 2500 Ram. I sold them and have method 315's now Ram specific. They look nice but I never should have sold the Mopar ones. They were so well made with a tough clearcoat. The coating on...
I had no idea there were so many models. I remember when they first went on sale in the US. Probably the most spacious comfortable 4wd I'd ever sat in. So many practical features too.
These are about as utilitarian as it gets. Factory steelies. I have Method 315 machined. Ram 2500 specific but dang they've gone up so much.

I have an ancient American made axe. A local guy hones the blade to where I could almost shave with it. I've haven't had much luck with a hatchet. The axe never bounces back. I carry a bow saw also.
Yet another truck the EPA has deemed evil in the US.
My anti diesel friend changed his tune after driving a Hilux diesel in Nicaragua. He couldn't believe how quiet and powerful it was. No smoke.
He's sold but it doesn't help as we can't get them.
I can only vouch for Hinos as I drove a 1992 medium duty model for 240K of torturous city deliveries. It was the most dependable vehicle I've never had the pleasure to drive. I never once let the turbo cool down. The huge drum brakes stopped on a dime, and the engine never smoked. I retired 12...
The inside of exhausts of dpf/def equipped diesel trucks are cleaner than gassers. Check them out. That photo shows an under-endowed owner who loves unburnt fuel spewing into the atmosphere where his kids breathe. I have an '07 Ram Cummins only because I carry a camper. If you don't tow heavy or...
Weight to me is a sign of structural integrity. You can always drop the air down for the ride but if your lighter tire gets squirmy on the highway under load adding more air might not do it. That Boss looks good. Everything's sure getting expensive though.
I'm 20 minutes from TJ. We used to say Baja started south of San Felipe and El Rosario. I've crossed easily over 150 times for surfing. 1-2 days to a couple of weeks. I started in 1966 when you needed a notarized note from mom if you were under 18. Spots were weaned from others after a couple of...
My manual Happijacs have been in the garage for 21 years now as I only dismount the camper every couple of years. I was always spooked at those things hanging down and with the leverage ripping out a corner.
Old post but that's what I use. Agile off road sells the billet adapter. I have an old well built Craftsman 12 ton bottle jack I'd sell pretty cheap in San Diego. No shipping obviously.
I'm 72 and began traveling to Baja since 1966. No amount of loose lips around the fire with a couple of shots and a beer has done the damage as the internet. If you're tired of crowds getting larger stay off the internet and talk about it around the fire at best.
