Completely disagree. At least in my area Premium 93 octane is 30% more expensive than regular. There is NO WAY you will recover this extra cost in improved efficiency. This would mean that my 18mpg typical '05 would need to go to 23.4mpg to break even. Never going to happen.

I use both 12V and 5V solar. Lighting is all on 5V (and phone charging) Fridge is on 12V. My 12V solar controller also has 5V USB port out that seams to run my lights and charge my phone just fine also. So basically if I don't bring the fridge I stick to 5V stuff.

you pretty much need 100 watts of solar to keep a "fridge" battery topped off and happy. You might get some cell phones, ipads and evening LEDs going too with this setup. Not too much else.

I've got a 9500 (Warn) on my Montero SR 4 door (4175 curb weight from WiKi), its similar weight as your 4Runner (3930 curb weight from WiKi) No issues. I've also got a Smittybuilt 8000 on my older Raider (2 door) - lighter (3290 curb weight from WiKi) than your 4Runner - Also never an issue.

That is crazy. We bought our '05 nearly 4.5 years ago with ~78K on it. Now has 138K on it. Only PMs - timing belt, fluid changes and normal wear items like brakes / tires.
