Gen 3 factory luggage rack and RTT

Agreed, the weight rating is while in motion. For instance the FJ stock rack is rated for 150 lbs while in motion, and many are using RTTs on these. Still looking for comparative info on the Gen 3.

Gen 3 factory luggage rack and RTT

Anybody running a RoofTop Tent on the factory Gen 3 Luggage rack? Owners manual says 220 lbs, RTT weighs ~135 lbs, so shouldn't be an issue while vehicle is in motion. Just wondering about when we add 2 or 3 sleeping bodies to the rack while stationary.

What years montero is the best

I'd agree about the Gen 3 comment. My wife is the primary driver of our '05. We just did an 8 day trip to Maine and central New York (3200 miles) with the '05. It is a very comfortable truck on the highway. Averaged 18.5 mpg most of the highways are posted speed limit 70 MPH, so maybe drove...

What years montero is the best

What do you plan to do with the truck? The Gen 3 (2001 and newer) are much different than the Gen 1, 2, & 2.5 trucks. Agreed the earlier trucks are hard to find around here. Many have bit the bullet due to rust. All 3 of my old trucks came from non-salt states so they are still solid. When...

Gen 2.5 Mitsubishi Montero 2000 - Over-landing Family Truck - long term enhancement

I am lucky enough to visit Thailand several times a year for work since 2010. Lots of Pajeros there. Almost all diesel. I've brought back many parts.

Montero Gen 2.5 (NL) Capacities, Part Numbers and Specialty Tools List

Commonly failed part. Same part number from '92 thru '06. Replace with same on my '05 today, and have replaced in my '92 and '93 over the past couple years.

    Montero Gen 1, 2, 3 questions.

Maybe, but doubtful on the tire comment. Even same when I was running the Fallen Wild Peaks (new) on the Gen 3. They are pretty grippy.

    Montero Gen 1, 2, 3 questions.

Its very possible that the '03 TC system and the '05 TC operate differently. What I experience while the TC is engaged and the tires begin slipping (even a little bit), such as taking off from a stop sign on a snow covered road, the TC seriously reduces engine power and the vehicle only creeps...

    Montero Gen 1, 2, 3 questions.

    1. Gen 1 can be retrofitted with the 3rd row, Gen 2 SR is standard after 95, PO on my '93 put in the 3rd row brackets, but the seats were not there when I bought it. I have since added in 1 seat back there. 2. some SR model Gen 2s have rear lockers. My '93 does not, but was an option. I...

ANOTHER Guy With A Gen 2.5 Build - Sure, why Not? It's My First!

I don't think OME bars give more lift, they have a different (higher) spring rate than stock, but still rely on amount of cranking and bump stops (and other suspension components) for lift limits.
