The U-Haul of you hauling it. Never seen one.

I saw one of those yesterday being towed by a fancy Mercedes.

New to campers and surprised by the high prices. How come a camper is half the cost of a car?

We sell forest river products so that’s the only ones I see new. FR has many different lines, some are better than others but just because it’s big and expensive doesn’t mean it’s better. The little r-pods and e-pros seem relatively good, and I’m told the Flagstaff are real nice. The other...

New to campers and surprised by the high prices. How come a camper is half the cost of a car?

I’ve been an RV tech for three months now. 20k dollar trailers are built like crap. 80k dollar trailers are built like crap, but they’ll give you a 20 year loan. Of course the trailer won’t last 20 years… I spend 90% of my time fixing new trailers that the factory messed up, and they know they...

Looks like a good salvage yard. I don’t know if you know but blazer brakes and sway bars are bigger than the p/u parts and they bolt on.

Which new 1 Ton Diesel would you buy?

I’ve scraped unibody cars in the past because so much was rotted out underneath I thought they would crumple up if I hit a big bump, let alone what would happen in a rear end collision. If cars where made of aluminum this wouldn’t be a problem. My next truck will be an alumiduty.

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

I don’t know how the LSD works in the big trucks but on my old Mustang GT with the 8.8”you wanted less friction modifier for less slip. Drag race guys would run no modifier, but this comes with “chatter” with street driving. For street driving it called for conventional gear lube plus the...

    Converting fridge plug to 7-pin

My Chevy has a 20v fuse for that circuit. Assuming the wire stays hot when the truck is off(mine is) and assuming there isn’t excessive voltage drop under load(fridge may disconnect) I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

2015+ F-150 towing question: How do I know if I'm getting power to the trailer battery?

On the chevys you had to hook up a wire by the fuse box to get power out the seven way. It it was constant hot regardless of key position.

2015+ F-150 towing question: How do I know if I'm getting power to the trailer battery?

I looked into this extensively for my Chevy. It puts power to the trailer via the seven way plug but I wanted more. 1. Run 2awg from truck battery to trailer battery. Not cheap, kinda a lot of work, mightnot give your trailer battery a full charge due to voltage drop. 2. Same as 1 but you add...

    4WC - Overrated and overpriced

When truck camper manufacturers list center of gravity they aren’t referring to height, but rather the distance from the front. Maybe they should list the cog height too though.

DC/DC & Battery monitor shunt placement

You should only have negative wires going to your shunt, and a temp sensor wire if you’re using one.

DC/DC & Battery monitor shunt placement

Probably echoing what’s been said above but: You’re using something like the Victorian 712 battery monitor and you need to wire the shunt? All negative wires go to one side of the shunt and the other side of the shunt goes to (house)battery negative. In your diagram above you have more than one...

It’s a 2011 Chevy 2500 gas engine 360hp 380tq 4.10 gears factory 32.5” tires. Best fuel economy I’ve ever seen is in the 14’s average is more like 13.0 Thinking about getting an alumaduty next, 6.2 or 7.3.
