Ive been gone for a while. My house is under contract to sell so ive been doing work to get it ready for that and the Blazer has been neglected for a few weeks now. Today I picked up my new tank/shower/pump and a bunch of misc. water lines and fittings as well as some propane fittings to start...
I meant in a more legitimate way than that. Similar to how they repair old gas tanks by pouring goop into them and it turns into a rubber coating on the inside of the tank.
Anyway, thanks for all your help and suggestions. I have plenty of water jugs that Ive been using for a long time. Im not...
I figured thats what you meant, but even after pouring through all the plastic tank manufacturers I can find online and looking at hundreds of different tank sizes/shapes nothing is even close. Its order a tank I want with custom fitting locations or make new holes in the camper.
Thinking...
I calculated the volume of the stock tank and its only 5.8 gallons. The new tank I sized is 12 so thats good. I think Im going to wind up doing a "standard" tank and have the factory install custom ports. The tank I want is only $99 blank so even if its another $100 just for the ports Im not...
How difficult is it to install the fittings? I dont think Im going to be able to find a ready to connect tank thats the right size with the right fitting locations. Or are you saying to tell them the fitting locations and have them install them before they send me the tank?
So Ive been having a discussion about the water and propane systems over in the Four Wheel Campers forum. The one thing I hadnt gone through yet was the water system. I decided to tear into it, only to realize my tank was failing and its really hard to find this exact tank for a replacement. So...
Well I wound up gutting everything under the counter this evening and sat there with a tape measure and my laptop for an hour trying to figure out the best size/shape to use. I dont know if Id call it "easy" to pick a regular tank but it will make it a little "easier" to make something work. I...
Thanks for the replies everyone. Ill check them out. I will probably wind up rerouting my propane lines so I can change the size/shape of the water tank.
Im in the process of going through all the systems in my new to me Blazer. Currently at the water system. Ive been to the RV supply stores all over Arizona and none have a tank of this shape. The info on the tank is El Monte Plastics, which makes me think its related to El Monte RV but I cant...
Tint looks great. Not sure why I never thought to do that for my campers in the past. I will definitely tint the camper and truck windows too. AZ sun and heat is a **********.
Finished up the sewing last night. Interior is really coming together, well...the camper interior. The truck is another story hahaha. I just need to tear into the water system but otherwise its basically done. I think Im going to keep the couch at least for a little while. The amount of storage...
Car culture in Arizona is crazy. We have more vanity plates than anywhere else in the world. There are very few restrictions on what you can drive; ATVS, UTVs, packed out adventure motorcycles and all sorts of offroad vehicles drive down the road in Phoenix all day long. Feels like you're in...
Alrighty, Ive been super busy, work picked back up and I decided to sell my house so you can imagine where my priorities are. I did manage to get some sewing done last night though! Only thing left to do is the curtains for the partition between the cab and camper.
This is much easier said than...
Im happy to report the truck fills with gas with no issue. Fixed the small leak today, the soft line between the filler neck and the tank got jacked up when I reinstalled it yesterday so I replaced it and all is well. Having a functional fuel gauge is WAY more important than you realize! Also, I...
Sounds like I need a trip to the junkyard. Ive been in AZ for two years and not visited a single junkyard yet. Im really missing out. Can you imagine an entire junkyard full of vehicles with no rust!?!
Round 2 from the weekend! Put the bumper project on hold and decided to get gassy. My fuel gauge doesnt work, my tank takes 30 minutes to fill with gas, the truck vapor locks like mad when its hot, the truck has saddle tanks that were no longer hooked up and in pretty bad shape. So I went to...
