on FJ40's, the big brake upgrade is to use calipers from V6 4Runner (1992 is what I installed). They are 40 MM piston brakes and larger pads.

Sorry these are all out of order... i'm just happy I figured out how to imbed images. This is the 4BT80. That's a Cummins 4BT 80, using a 6BT intake/exhaust manifold cut-down, 6BT-turbo (H1C with 56MM inducer), NV4500, Orion, aftermarket intercooler. Oil pan chopped to allow minimal lift.

OK, finally figuring this out. Was feeling pretty dumb 20 minutes ago. 1985 FJ60 with BTB Springs, H55F, and Onan Turbo Diesel Onan L634T (aka Cummins 6A3.4T). This is a 3.4, IDI turbo diesel found in really old UPS trucks. Nice little motor, harder to find parts for these days. The FJ46...

oh, one more thing... I put my 4BT into an 80 with only a 1" body lift. I had to slice and dice the oil pan, and customize the oil pickup, but it wasn't so bad. It can be done.
