Question for the Tundra gurus here

Nothing like that common that I've heard off for the 4.7's. May want to try over on tundrasolutions to see if anyone over there knows anything.

What do you store OUTSIDE of your vehicle?

Everything in the back of my truck is locked, except the small fire extinguisher.....that's why I keep the high-dollar extinguishers mounted inside the cab.

I finally found my tent....I think

This is exactly what I've been searching for :sombrero:! I want to find a tent that's relatively simple to set up, doesn't "have" to have stakes/rope to stand, and has a large enough front "porch" area so I can quit having to lug around my heavy ***** EZ-UP........ There's only two of us with...

    Need a new muffler, suggestions??

I'm running a 18" S.S. HP@ Hushpower muffler and love it. I'm surprised that something so small sounds good and it not annoying. I had a Flowmaster 40-series prior to the Hushpower and it was annoying. Not sure if you would get the same results, but I'm really happy with it and it tucks up...

    Hydroplaning KM2s

Must have a lot to do with vehicle weight because I hit several inches of water on the interstate coming into Atlanta a while back and it never once hydroplaned. I have yet to have these tires hydroplane, but my truck weighs around 6,800 lbs also.

    Transmission/radiator Cross Contamination

FWIW - It happens with the 1st Gen Tundra's also, I just changed my cooling system up to avoid it. Not sure if it will help, but I'll post my build thread below in case anyone needs some ideas for coolers, fans, and such. I actually did some of my original research into this on a Nissan forum...

    Petersons Ultimate Adventure Tundra

A little update - It's been in the upper 90F's for the past week, sometimes it's been close to 100F with crazy high humidity. The engine coolant temp has been running right at 190F consistently, the highest I've been able to get it is 193F, and that was while sitting still at a traffic light...

That's funny, I was seriously looking at that one until I read your review :)!

    Looking for a better tent.

I'm in the exact same boat, but I'm also looking for a tent with decent size front canopy/shade so I can quit carrying our bulky EZ-UP around. Something that packs relatively small and sets up quick and easy.......

Overland tires that don't weigh a ton?

Correct. Here's a little bit of info I pulled together comparing 37" mud terrains, notice the weight of the Toyo's, their 37's weigh as much as, if not more than most manufacturers 40's! FYI - All these #'s are from the manufacturers 37x12.50x17 tire weights (a few of these are 13.50) BFG...

How much does your vehicle weigh?

I've always been a little concerned about my tires being "C" rated, but that's the only option BFG offers in a 40" KM2. They're still rated at 3,195# @ 35 psi though. I typically run 30 psi in them on the street and 20 psi when off road and they have been holding up and handling fine so far.

    Haggis' Multi-Use Tundra Build

I'm gonna guess 11-pack Deavers....because they look a lot like my old set......and because Alcan is located in CO and Deaver is in CA :p

How much does your vehicle weigh?

Good to know! Considering the extra weight of my axles, tires, and tube work......an additional 720 lbs more isn't that bad :).

How much does your vehicle weigh?

I beg your pardon....she's not "over weight"......just thick framed :sombrero:!

How much does your vehicle weigh?

6,820 lbs load down with tools and spare parts......ouch! Original GVRW was 6,030#, but that doesn't really concern me any since I'm now running 1-ton axles on both ends, heavy duty spring packs on all four corners, and have added six additional cross members to the frame over the years, not to...
