Had the opportunity to use the light over the weekend while camping and it worked flawlessly. It gave off plenty of light to see everything in the fridge in the pitch dark. Definitely well worth the price IMO
Well the rotors kind of self destructed on me during the '08 UA. They cracked between ever wheel stud hole. Also one of the calipers sheered off the light weight aluminum mounting brackets (happened to both rear corners at different times and ripped the brake line off both times - first time...
I bought my truck new in 2001 with about 15 miles on it and it shook from the minute I drove it off the lot once it got to about 65 MPH, and continued to do so no matter what the dealer tried. It actually rides smoother on the interstate now with 1-ton axles, beadlock wheels, and 40" tires than...
Running Wilwood calipers on all four corners and Wilwood rear rotors. It's kind of hard to find replacement parts out in the middle of nowhere when you're runnning a bunch of custom stuff......learned that one the hard way.
I now run 12" GM rotors on all four corners and GM 1/2-ton calipers...
This thread got me curious about how many aftermarket wheels I've been through on my rig......looks like steelies win for quantity, but aluminum has finally prevailed :D
American Eagle aluminum -
Allied steel simulated beadlocks -
Stazworks steel double beadlocks -
Allied Steel...
I was guilty of thinking aluminum wheels could not hold up to the abuse of hard off-road driving, until I went on the '08 Ultimate Adventure and watched the TrailReady HD 17's taking a serious beat down on several of the participant's rigs and never failing. As soon as I got back I sold my...
I wouldn't discount aluminum wheels (some) for strength. Steel can sometimes be fixed in the field with a hammer if a lip gets bent. I've had several of each on my rig and I prefer aluminum for weight and balancing.
On a 17"x8" wheel it's not uncommon to see steel weigh 10-15 lbs more per...
I was messing around in Academy Sports last weekend and ran across a battery powered Coghlan's cooler light for $6.99. Stuck it to the inside of my Engel lid and it works like a champ. It has a gravity activated switch built into it that allows it to automatically come on when you open the...
I have my front differential, transmission, and transfer case all routed up to top of the front fenders in the engine compartment. I have the rear differential routed up to the top of my bed.
All vents are individually terminated with N.E.X.T. vents to avoid possible cross-contamination of...
I don't have any off hand, but remember reading about it somewhere, I'll see what I can find. I learned this from experience, and by working with ARB's tech to diagnose what was going on with mine.
If you do pull the locker, pay attention to how "tight" the locker feels coming out of the third, if the preload is too loose on the side bearings it can cause an ARB to leak, especially in a Toyota 8" (8.4") rear end. This is a very well known issue with Toyota rear axles and ARB's due to axle...
I'm running a 2.5 lb. Halon (H3r MaxOut) mounted on my cage inside with a Poly Performance quick release mount and a 5 lb. ABC mounted on my cage inside (both within arms reach of either front seat occupant), and a 2.5 lb. ABC mounted with quick fist clamps out in the bed -...
Just another option to throw out there -
I just bought two fist clamps and use a rechargeable LED work/spot light, that way if I ever need a light somewhere other than in the truck, I just grab it and go.
You can rotate the light to shine where you want and mine works out really well because...
Could be not enough preload on the carrier bearings, allowing enough deflection for some oil to get past the air collar seals.
The ARB in my 14-bolt used to get some fluid in the air line from time to time, but mine ended up being a blocked vent causing over pressurization.
ARB's have always...
