How much does your vehicle weigh?

I think there have been a few threads like this in the past...always fun to see what other vehicles weigh. I have a 1997 hummer open top. It's curb is 6,610, the gvw is 10,300. Adding under carriage protection, rock sliders, rear bed rack/spare, light bar/lights, roll bars, bigger tires...

My WIDE Full Size Expedition Vehicle... 2003 H1

I am a huge fan of the cummins as well. I replaced my engine with a stock 6.5td 6 yrs ago -- I wish I had gone n/a to get rid of the computer. Live and learn. At that time very few were doing engine swaps and those brave few pioneers who went with a cummins had massive body lifts. I missed...

My WIDE Full Size Expedition Vehicle... 2003 H1

a few guys on the HML did that conversion and I'm pretty sure it requires a 4" lift. John Andres has a really bad-*** truck -- he actually trimmed his hood and frame rails for even better approach angle (the extra height allows the radiator to be vertical so this can be done) I don't want to...

My WIDE Full Size Expedition Vehicle... 2003 H1

After being hung out to dry when the h2 was introduced, most of the folks with hummers/h1's understandably try to distance themselves from GM, the h2, and the h3 -- which are similar in name only. As far as the 6.2 and 6.5 diesels, there weren't too many to choose from that would fit when the...

My WIDE Full Size Expedition Vehicle... 2003 H1

a stock hummer can run up to 38.5" tires with no rubbing, some claim to get away with 39.5's but I don't believe they won't rub without at least a small lift. 2" of body lift is plenty for 40's. Guys who run 42's have at least 3" total of lift -- either a 3" body lift or the standard 2"...

    "Jeep Panda" coming in mid-2011?

kind of a funny to say that Jeep and Rover out sold Hummer...I don't think GM really made that many in comparison (maybe 40,000 to 60,000/yr?). If you are talking about AM General, there were only 11,800 H1's made between '92 and '06. to beat a dead horse (literally) about the hatred, I...

    Tire inflation compressors

I have a slightly different viair model than the one in the comparison -- but my 480 has been filling a 5 gal tank to 200 psi (for the occasional air tool and my bag system) for the 3.5 years I've had it stuffed under my hood. I know I've jinxed it by singing it's praises -- so if you see me...

The beginning of an EXPO Hummer H2 SUT

yes, if 3 wheels lose traction and you gun it you may bend a tie-rod -- with that much power being sent to one wheel it's no wonder. Tie-rods are cheap and a 20 to 30 minute fix, I wouldn't worry about them unless you wheel a lot with the future 37's or have a lead foot with the 35's.

it is refreshing! The h2 is far better than people give it credit.

HMMWV double beadlocks wheels on a Ford Superduty

just a matter of info or comparison, the 2 piece hummer steelies are roughly 46 lbs (rim with all lugs), the internal beadlock is 10 lbs and the rubber runflat is 35 lbs. rb

HMMWV double beadlocks wheels on a Ford Superduty

with the 16.5's you are limited to super swamper and a few others. I don't mind because mine is a trail truck -- the iroks aren't a bad tire though. A bit noisy but not nearly as noisy as some I've had in the past. the 17" two piece aluminum hutchinson rims that were available on hummers 2002...

    Trade my Tacoma for this?

one of the guys in a Russian hummer club has a MC and posted some pics of them all playing in the snow. Though few even noticed the trucks next to the lovely Eastern European women! Here's one of a MC looking all business -- nice!

funny post -- but you are not alone. I bet anyone with an equally capable vehicle (no matter the make) does the same so you are in good company! rb
