More goodies for mu gen II.5!

Gotcha. I'd be careful loading too much up there, I can flex the crossbars by hand on mine.

I'm impressed you got the rear sway bar out without cutting it. There was no way mine was coming off without more disassembly than I wanted to do. In any case, I had no delusions about putting it back so I figured I may as well just cut it.

I've left the Toyota Fold, AKA my Montero Build Thread

Trimmed my extension bumpstops today after discussing it in another thread. I found it easiest to just unbolt the bumpstops and take them inside. I'm also not supposed to work on my truck at my apartment complex so I had to be somewhat stealthy ;). Cutting them down wasn't too hard, I just...

    Bumpstops

Is anyone running anything other than the stock bumpstops on a Gen 2? I went to some progressive foam bumpstops on the front of my old Toyota and it made a big difference in ride quality. Same thing on my old Miata. I'd like to get some progressive poly ones in the rear of the Monty (looks...

Now I'm curious too. Post up your results when you get the new wheels?

    Wheels and MPG?

If anything, the extra rotating weight will only make a noticeable difference in stop and go driving. Once you're up to speed, very little energy, comparably speaking, is needed to keep it there.

I've left the Toyota Fold, AKA my Montero Build Thread

Handling is fine on pavement with 10.5" tires. There is for sure more body roll but it isn't bad. What I notice more is the improved ride over diagonal bumps. You get less of that side-to-side head tossing motion. I personally have yet to wish I still had it installed. Just pull one of the...

I've left the Toyota Fold, AKA my Montero Build Thread

I'm pretty sure they're aftermarket. Here's a pic so you can verify for me: It looks like the plastic grill above the skidplate was modified (pretty cleanly) to fit them They weren't too bad to change out. The lens is held in with little metal clips that pop right off with a screwdriver.
