I'm interested. How much difference between this edition (2nd - 1998 I believe) and the latest (4th - 2015 I believe)? besides the additional 104 pages added to the newest edition.
Agreed, Its not only the safety of you and others in your vehicle, but its also the safety of others on the road. If you are flying out to pickup both rigs, would you really have time to install trailer brakes? With trailer you would be way over the max tow capacity. Brakes are first effected.
On a trailer or flat towing? Gen 3 rated towing capacity is 5000 lbs. Flat towing (towbar) a Gen 2.5 would be just under that. ~4500 lbs aprox. Trailer? probably not.
