    3rd Gen 4Runner - bumper question

I believe you must make some modifications that may entail welding in order to make it fit. My suggestion is to search it on the 4runner website. If you want to upgrade your front end without lifting, I recommend the Moog replacement coils with performance shocks. They've made a noticeable...

Educate me..... Center Differential (Diff) Lock

That's it. Basically, when you're slipping in 4WD. We've had the scenario recently around here. Big snowfall and lots of narrow, steep roads with tight turns.. The center diff lock turns off the vehicle stability control, which allows the tires to spin in order to move on.

What do I do?! Build on this 4runner or find a lower mileage one

Is that a Florida plate? Amazingly clean truck. I would keep that one, go through maintenance items, and drive it as is without changing a thing.

What to do with some extra cash?

Original starter, alternator, fuel pump, rear axle seals, radiator, steering rack? You could throw money at replacing some of those items, I guess.

    4Runner or Tacoma? Need Advice

Kids in the future gives the edge to 4Runner, though I once again agree with redthies about perhaps just refreshing your current Runner. They're great trucks. Hard to imagine that the newer ones are more fun to drive, but maybe so. I would arrange for a test drive of the two contestants.

New Rig - New Build. The Terrapod 4Runner

What's the MPG, and how does this compare to the previous rigs?

    Suspension Education for Neophyte

Good question. It could be that any deviation from the stock suspension will decrease reliability. A common suggestion I've found regarding suspension is to try it out as is first, to see if you really need to make any changes at all.

    my worst land cruiser adventure:

He made it, alright. That much we do know. Maybe he's now hunched over one of his 80 series, working on something.

    The_ExploreMore_4Runner - The Go Everywhere 3rd Generation 4Runner

Yes, it has a lot of money invested in add ons. I'm beginning to wonder if fuel pump failure is a common issue with these. Any history of fuel filter being changed ? That may have been the cause of mine failing at 144K miles, about a year after I got it. Though it had been well maintained...

OEM 45 liter gas tank on a US LC200

You are correct for the smaller aux tank. Here's a write up I found that may be helpful on an installation of the larger aux tank, which takes away the spare. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/47-gallon-long-ranger-aux-tank-installation-usa-200-series.748018/

    Old's Cool

The 4 cylinder KA24E is the go to engine in the hard body, I believe, just as the 22RE is preferred to the 3.0. Yes, these are very good trucks, with a bit more HP in their 4 cylinder engine. I preferred my '95 Nissan to my '92 Toyota. Not much aftermarket support for them though, and it...

OEM 45 liter gas tank on a US LC200

With better MPG, the 200 has more range than any of the older Cruiser wagons. I guess you'd have to buy an aftermarket tire carrying bumper to go along with the added tank, since it would take up the OEM spare location. It must be a dealer installed option, rather than a standard feature...

4Runner suspension questions (5th Gen): Help me plan please!

X2. I wouldn't lift the bastard. Maybe some airbags and new shocks.

    Which off-road vehicle?

Unimog, of course. Seriously man, you've got an Xterra so just go with that. Yeah, I also had Scouts. They were fun back in the day, but IMO the only guys that should be getting into them at this point in time are people with a lot of time, money and wrenching skills. Probably welding...

Land Rover guy goes the TLC route

Gawd I love the way they spell "tire". :) Yes, I noticed he was from England. Well, it's another Land Cruiser thing for Yankees to whine about, right? No 30th anniversary 70 series, no 50th anniversary 200 series...

OK, a 50th anniversary Land Cruiser. I don't believe these were offered in the US.

    2017 4runner v 2017 Landcruiser

The Brian894x4 website describes the difference as follows. (The current generation Hilux, first introduced in 1998, has body panels that are very similier to the North American Tacoma, but rest of the suspension and frame are identical to the North American market '86-'95 Toyota 4x4.) So...

Convince me to get rid of my 4Runner for a Land Cruiser.

Personal preference, for sure, but the Toyota 3.4 V-6 is considered an excellent engine and highly regarded by most accounts. Toyota is now putting the next generation of those V-6 "mini van" engines in 70 series Land Cruisers overseas, you know. Also, OP stated that if he bought a 60...

USA's new energy plan and Federal Land

That's Fawkin' nuts. :( For Bush Sr., "Puked and passed out" sounds better to me. I think the incident was related to an unfortunate bout of atrial fibrillation, and happened shortly after he got handled in tennis by some 4' 6" tall Japanese official.
