Just did my driver's side boots today.... Will post up pictures and "how-to" on the passenger side when I get to it. Only boots on the driver's side were torn, but all boots are worn.
The axle didn't seem very greasy when I pulled everything off... but I did lube it up like the picture...
wow! I had a really difficult time removing the old seal... I average like an hour per cylinder.... that included a couple of cylinders where the keeper wasn't fully in, and the spring slipped past my tool and the keeper went flying while I had to track it down.
What did you do to get the old...
I built a rack from an ATV ramp as well. my ramp was 6 foot long and doesn't fully cover my roof. It could be another couple of feet long. The ramp was also 48 inches wide, and I added probably 4 inches in width so that it was wider.
I did order the 7" garvin gutter mounts, the other options...
I ordered HLAs from rockauto... Don't recall the brand, but I've been happy enough with them. I replaced all of them and its been over 2years and almost 25k miles.
The hitch hangs down and a basket pushing out the back will hit the ground, even on mild trails.
If I had another car with a receiver, I would remove the one from the Montero.

I like the idea of a lip going over the cross member to actually carry the weight of the vehicle coming down on something. If you had all of the weight the places where the existing shields bolt to, that would be your weak point. You would then be using the existing mount points to just mount...
totally agree... but if my 200+lbs hangs off the edge of the open door and it starts to bend on the hinges... I don't need any miles of bumpy roads to know it's going to fail :-)
I would be using the same wheel carrier mounting structure in the door, mounting rails to that, and then moving the carrier over a few inches and mounting it to the rails.
I think it's going to come down to how much extra weight is everything going to add to the door. I'm actually tempted to...
I did some quick eye-ball measurements.... the tire is A LOT closer to the handle then I anticipated...
while I can probably move the tire over to the right ~4 inches, that only gives me ~5 inches between the edge of the tire and the trim around the door handle. Thinking about it last night...
I'm thinking about moving the spare tire on the back door over a few inches so it's closer to the hinge. That will give me room to the left of the tire to mount a jerry can and perhaps a high lift.

I don't disagree :-) The point is that if you assume you only have 2wd, you won't be doing difficult trails, or won't make it very far on a difficult trail. :sombrero:

A tip I read when starting out 4x4ing was to use 2wd until you get stuck, then use 4wd to get you out and home. Especially if you're out alone and have limited self recovery gear.
changed out the alternator belt... sadly, you have to remove the other two belts to get the alternator belt off, but was abel to do it with the fan still in place. Did have to remove the lower shields.
According to that video, the jackaroo (trooper) wins!
Something else to consider is the online community presence. I'm not sure what Isuzu has going for it, but there are several Montero/Pajero forums. The Pajero is crazy popular outside of the united states, and many times I've found...
iPhones are radio transmitters (and receivers) so are cordless phones.... sounds like rumor or really poorly written policy that will easily be thwarted in court...
I have a difficult time trying to justify the price of name brand rigs as well..... I started with a Baofeng HT, but was willing to spend a bit more and now have a Yaesu HT (FT1DR) as well.
