    Collection of Build Threads

I have a handful of build posts in the Ovrlnd Only thread in the Pop-up camper sub forum. This is the overview. You can look further for more details, but it’s mostly the camper build since there’s not many Toyotas there. The Tundra itself: - ‘21 SR5 w/ the upgrade package that added better...

Well thats a drag! I thought that was a great idea. Does the adhesive residue mess things up underneath the tiles? FWIW, I know that Coroplast makes a fabric coated sheet, but I was never able to find an easy way to get it.

Permanently mount hard shell RTT in the Southwestern US, issues with UV?

I live in Phoenix. Not on a RTT, but for lots of other plastic or vinyl, I’ve had good luck with 303 applied several times a year.

    Drawers: Metal vs. wood

I’m a woodworker, but went with 8020 open frame with some 12mm Baltic birch where needed and 5mm for some sides. What I dont get is the seeming desire to overbuild drawers and making them really heavy. I made coroplast drawers that weigh about 1.5lb and are very tough. Definitely keeps the...

Scheel Mann Vario XL seats in the Equipt 200 Series Land Cruiser

Thanks Paul for your feedback on your experience and your thinking on it. I was afraid of that. Metal Tech, who sells Scheel Manns and Planted seat brackets used to sell an occupancy sensor bypass module. They had it listed a few years ago when I wanted to replace my Tacoma’s seats, but was...

Ode to the Sceptre Water Jug.

Scepter makes an awesome spigot. https://www.nrs.com/scepter-nozzle-for-water-containers/pmx1?utm_campaign=shop_comp&utm_source=google&utm_medium=buy_now&utm_term=goog_product_70847.01&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0umSBhDrARIsAH7FCoeG9KEgcvRC-gWTV_lnkby-wyTTxdMDuhbw_ETW4wIQxkN6k9jFWd0aAv78EALw_wcB I cut it...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

Have you looked at Lizard Skin? Havent used personally, but researched it at one point and it seemed really effective. I think some here on Expo have used it, and Brian on the Solid Woodworks YouTube channel had segment on it if you’re researching.

Scheel Mann Vario XL seats in the Equipt 200 Series Land Cruiser

I assume this worked for you since it seems to have for @csphoto? I always thought the problem was that with the seat weight sensor missing and absent the aftermarket resistor (which has been unavailable for quite awhile) to fool the airbag system there was an error code that caused problems...

@wowf — FWIW the way I mounted the awning to the tonneau cover on my old Tacoma was with a “C” channel awning strip that was the width of my vehicle VHB’d with a few pop rivets to a piece of light but stiff alum “u”channel from HD. That assembly was bolted directly, but temporarily to the...

No problem! Definitely a cheaper and lighter setup than a 270° awning, though maybe not quite as handy. Sometimes I think about selling my 23Zero 180° on the back, but it is handy, especially in my driveway when I’m working on the camper and on trips depending on the circumstances. It’s not...

Here you go: https://www.busdepot.com/a7905 Sorry, I see I had a typo in the name! Didja find a lot of beer or some new friends?? ? Its a good ripstop fabric, semi-opaque, reflective (in the grey color) about 8’ square. It comes with a ridiculous amount of heavy formed steel poles that go...

Yeah, I've been using that type of set up for about 5 years with my old Tacoma and migrated it over. It works great. I also had Jay put up the track. I also have a 23Zero 180 degree awning on the back inspired by @Wrathchild's build. Often my old set up is better when the sun is low coming in...

I really like these! May replace a couple light I have with these and add a couple. The color change would be great for bugs. The door with a screen is the only thing about FWC’s Im envious of. Carpet tiles is a genius idea !

    FWC Project M

You pretty much have to insulate with an aluminum camper shell for sure. You should also post this question over on the Ovrlnd Only thread. Everybody’s insulating just a little bit differently. Personally, I chose to use a double foil faced quarter inch closed cell foam sheeting that went on...

    FWC Project M

Yeah, we went from a Tacoma and tent to the Tundra + Ovrlnd. Still using the fold out toilet and wag bags - no desire for black tanks, no matter how small. LOVE the stand up, move around stretching room and a place to get out of the elements. Migrated our sleeping pads over a layer of 1/4”...

Got it! I never even thought about it, since my wife and I usually need the space with the bed stowed. I’ll have to try it. would be really handy for a quick get away or middle of the night move. Thanks!

    FWC Project M

+1 one the Ovrlnd. I looked into the full FWCs and the M’s extensively before I bought mine. The Ovrlnd gives you way more options and fewer limitations unless you just really want the full built in RV look and function, but less room and flexibility inside. Jay and Maggie are great to work with...

Can you explain that a bit more? For the life of me I cant figure out how that would work. Not sure what AF is (?) and I have the old style lift panels and cabover with 2” extra height, so maybe thats why, but the differences dont seem that major. Are you crawling up on the extended bed to lift...
