    Valve Seals

BTW, It was definitely a lifter and not an exhaust leak. I had read some other posts, and relaced all the exhaust gaskets. That did clear up some noise, but the lifter still ticked after it warmed up to operating temp. Do you guys have any other PM recommendations for me while I have it torn...

    Valve Seals

I'm in the middle of doing the head gaskets on my '04 disco. It has 45,000 miles on it. It's been running great, but I had a lifter ticking badly after it warmed up, and both head gaskets were starting to weep coolant and oil. Everything looks good. The gasket set I ordered didn't come with...

FS: 265 / 75 R16 BF Goodrich MUD TERRAINS and Land Rover Steel Wheels

Are you willing to sell the lug nuts and center caps separate from the wheels? I just bought a set of P38 wheels for my disco 2 but need these. If so, how much? Thanks

strange noise from the left rear

Jack up that corner and pull the wheel. Check the brakes to make sure everything is kosher there. Then try grabbing the flange and wiggling the axle to see if there is any play in the bearing. There should be no up/down or side to side play at all.

Is this crazy or worth it, swapping bodies?

Sounds like a great plan. Dealing with northern states rust is a never ending and expensive battle. Moving the goodies and putting the stock parts on your old jeep is very smart. This is particularly a good idea for a vehicle such as the XJ where there is a relatively cheap supply of good...

He always has great ideas. I try to steal as many of them as I can! You should check out his roof rack mounting system. Bulletproof!

Ok. I feel stupid now. I shouldn't have assumed it was you. Just don't see many defenders with md plates pulling another rover in these parts. I wish I was attending the rally. Tell Matt I really liked his trucks.

Were you passing thru Oklahoma today in your white defender trailering a series with big tires? I saw this today and it had Maryland tags on it. If it was you, yes I'm the goob in the AT&T van who was trying to get your attention with a sign in my passenger window. I didn't want to linger along...

Suburban build out guidance and opinions

I know you already have this truck and it's probably paid for, so take this for what it's worth as it's just my opinion. I'd price out the cost of the mods you're talking about, and figure out how much time and money it will take to uprade the drivetrain. I believe you'll find you're money...

    New Shoes!

Does anyone know of a company that carries a center cap that fits these wheels. I just want something simple that is black or can be painted. I'd like to cover the axle nuts just to keep the mud out.

But they don't make Thunderwear for a 12 ga. I tried to make some, but after trying it on, the idea seemed kind of dangerous.

Random musings from a series owner

I know what you mean. I used to own a Haflinger and owned a BMW Isetta for 1 1/2 days. Driving those 2 rigs were some of the most fun I ever had on the road. Talk about strange looks!

    Lug nutz and an idea

I found this link to using the Rubicon electric swaybar on other vehicles. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/how-put-2007-jk-electric-swaybar-your-yj-writeup-pics-358591/ Evidently when they came out this could be purchased at the dealership for $70-$80. After a while Chrysler found out...

    Lug nutz and an idea

I haven't seen any pics or diagrams of the electric sway disconnects used on the Jeep Rubicon. I may check into that and see if something along that line would be better. Maybe pick up one at a salvage yard and adapt it? I know this may be an excercise in futility, but I try to avoid having...
