    #1 Rule of Travel Photography

Thanks Trevor, I thought it was Steve but now it will bug me until I figure it out. I read an interview of a photog working for Nat Geo explaining a famous shot they got of a girl in a small village. The photog explained that the people were a little fearful of him and his gear so he took off...

    #1 Rule of Travel Photography

I don't know about that Michael, I'll bet they would love to have you take there portrait. These are great tips, thanks. The only thing I can add from my time shooting events and social functions is to let your acclimate to the conditions. If your lens fogs it will tough to get the shot. The...

Columbia Men's Cliff Lakes Cargo Shorts

I just got a pair at my local TJ Maxx for $16.99. They only had one of my size or I would have bought more. If you have a Maxx local it's always worth a shot.

    Need to get active-er.

One heck of a stress reliever too! Joe, did you have problems with your hands-knuckles? From years of wrenching and playing giutar I already get soreness and wouldn't want to hasten arthritis. That does look like a great, quick and effective workout.

    Need to get active-er.

I was having a similar problem, not living badly but also not losing weight and in fact gaining. How is your sleep, moods, energy level? I am asking because mine were lousy so I went to the Dr and found out my thyroid was under producing pretty bad. So I started taking synthroid and the sleep...

Some Time Behind The Camera Finally

Yeah, with the amount of commercial fishing in coastal NC we've got a lot of names for them. Get em in green that go almost to your knee and they are "Wellies" which most ExPo people can recognize, especially the Land Rover fans. I think you have to had cut your foot on an oyster bed to really...

What do you all think about this Bessa?

Saw a sad sight yesturday I went to my local camera store to see if they might have any used rangefinders and to look at a new lens for my D70s. No luck on the rangefinder and I was kind of sad to see all the used 35mm SLR's and lenses where just heaped onto a shelf with no order or care. Have...

What do you all think about this Bessa?

That one comes with the 50mm so it's part of the kit, I plan to get a 35 or maybe a 28 as I loved the 28 I used to have on a Nikon FM that I used for group/candid shots when I did event photography back in the film days. I also spotted a Leica IIIf RD with a 50 elmar yesturday in 8+ condition...

What do you all think about this Bessa?

Thanks, it seems the Bessa-R has a very bright and well sorted viewfinder from what I'm reading and it seems I'd have to get a M4 or above to have the clarity which adds a lot to the cost. I'd rather spend the money on lenses.

What do you all think about this Bessa?

Anything??? Do I need to post more pics? From looking at some sites I see the Bessa-R is kind of a starter RF due to price and (to a lesser extent) build. It uses the old 39mm screw mount for lenses-will that be too confining? What would be a good price? The place selling this is asking $499...

Some Time Behind The Camera Finally

I think we need to synch The Doors "Riders On The Storm" to this thread! You can add "pictures of pizza boxes" Pat, that just makes me hungry!:coffeedrink: I looked though you gallery yesturday-nice work! I'll bet the shallow water fishing is pretty dang good there, I need to escape with my...

What do you all think about this Bessa?

I've found a used Voightlander Bessa-R with a 50 f1.5 for sale. I got some pictures of the camera from the shop today, they are asking $499 for the kit which I am guessing is a little high but how much? If I offered $450 for this kit would it be a good buy?

    Anybody Still Using 35mm Film?

Is the issue not getting good prints from your digi shots? I've found the same problem and had to try a few developer sources to find one I liked. I find the with my digital cameras I never get the pictures developed-they just get loaded into my macbook and there they stay. I don't know why...

    Rangefinder info and advice please

Trevor, I have messed about with an old Cannon that my sister gave me-a Cannonet 28 which appears to be in the small RF's of the 70's category. That camera needs new sealing so right now it's not in use at all. I did have a chance to look at some RF's at B&H last year in NYC. The quality of...
