    New Canadian Ambo build

Excellent my friend. We’ll have to meet up again soon. My build is going slowly... much like molasses at this time of year. I’ve got three sheets of 1/8” HDPE (High density Polyethylene) to replace the damaged plastic on my left interior... was given it this summer, and just haven’t had time to...

    New Canadian Ambo build

If there’s an unwanted 60” grab bar, I’m still looking for one. Otherwise I’ll have to buy some stainless wire and build one out of the grab bars I’ve got laying around.

Don’t toss any of the smoked cabinet doors, I’ll gladly take them off your hands. Let me know if he has Crestline ambulance spare parts.

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

Question: Why has my Airbag light decided to turn on? After some research I thought I'd share my answer/solution. The Airbag light on indicates a fault and that the Airbags are disabled. In some cases the light will flash out a code which can relate to the fault, My '97 didn't provide any...

    Help with Ambulance electrical system

With my Crestline I regularly see 14.8 v at the house batteries from the alternator even with a 200+ amp load.

    Help with Ambulance electrical system

Private sale of 'used' batteries... a tree came down onto their trailer and totaled it. They had only been out three times since they converted to the Interstate GC2 batteries. Costco south of the 49th have Interstate Batteries for a decent price... North of the 49th only Kirkland (which some...

    Help with Ambulance electrical system

The second starting battery on the frame rail isn’t too bad to access. It helps that it’s OEM and planned out, not just thrown in there. 6V are about $120 usd each. There not terrible. I paid about $90 for a pair that were like new. A TRUECHARGE microprocessor controlled will keep them healthy...

    Help with Ambulance electrical system

I’ve got a ‘97 With a 7.3. If your module has space I’d recommend swapping your two batteries in if for two 6V golf cart batteries. They are about 10” tall. I’d then install a srock battery box on the passenger side frame rail for a second starting battery. Originally E350s came with one...

Favor needed, anyone with a Vanagon or Eurovan Westy?

I’d think it would be just as easy to start From scratch as to add on to the canvas... the glass would be save some effort to make one larger.

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

Nothing wrong with that van. A Whizzy Wheel or a heat gun would help take those graphics off the sides of the van. For $2500 I’d buy it too. In our case, we were specifically needing a type 3 for advertising. For $1k usd we bought our ‘97 with a 7.3... 5 years later it’s still going strong. I’d...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

Sounds about right. Mine’s a hair bigger at 88” wide, dually, 148” long, and 66” inside height. It’s a Crestline New Era... the minimod are more like 64” high inside... but I’ve never seen one firsthand.

How strong it will be dependent on the layers used. When building/Designing prosthetic sockets which support a patient’s weight, layers are careful considered maximize strength and minimize weight. Although I’ve got no experience with that particular material, I can recommend how to maximize the...

    Elockers?

My only experience with chains and front wheel drive was chains on the front of a Subaru Brat. After my second 180 degree spin out, I took them off. It had excellent traction in the front and zero in the rear. It was horrible. With no chains it did awesome... chains was like being strapped to a...

    97 E350 Crestline Ambo Build/Mod

New shoes are on. Initial impressions are : steering is lighter/easier, tracks straighter, ride is about the same. General Grabber HTS are a mid-range tire, so I’m a bit surprised they feel nicer on the front end than the TOYO Open Country HT. They are worn to about 50%, but still in great shape.

hopefully a non biased opinion Transit vs sprinter

You’re correct... torque where it’s needed is what matters. Hp and Torque figures used to sell/brag are irrelevant. Take for wheeling, I find what it’ll do at 600 rpm is far more important than peak anything.

hopefully a non biased opinion Transit vs sprinter

Torque is what moves it down the road. My 9k+ diesel only has 250 hp, but it’ll beat a 600 hp Crew-cab pickup across an intersection. My 2 ton 4x4 started with a little over 100 hp... and they are legendary for their ability. Next motor had 300 hp and the current has 200ish... doesn’t get me...

    37 on stock quigley

Two guys at the sign shop stripped one side of our ambulance in a couple hours. I’m not sure they did it twice as fast as one... it wasn’t overly efficient to have two working on it. For an ambulance, one full day... but I’d do it over at least two. A plumbers propane torch would save some...
