And their sales are nothing to write home about.... They are niche vehicles.

I'd suggest that if that were the case, there would be 4x4 vans already.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

I think that's very much up for debate... very low gvwr ratings compared to others in their segment is one huge issue, IMHO. Other complaints are more subjective - wet noodle frame, aging transmission, aging engine.... I never had any complaints about the brakes or transfercase... but hated the...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

trying to look at some of those pictures... it almost appears that the front shock/strut/coilover is mounted single sheer ahead of the a-arm.... is that an illusion, bad eye site? Seems like a horrible mounting position for off-road use?

6 lug Pro Comp/ Visions on 1st gen Tundra advice!

King of the Hammers. Preference is totally fine. That's why I asked originally.

6 lug Pro Comp/ Visions on 1st gen Tundra advice!

I wouldn't place too much on the "stronger and easier to repair" items anymore. Unless you're going all KOH, likely will never be an issue. And even then, I don't think a lot of KOH participants use steel wheels.

6 lug Pro Comp/ Visions on 1st gen Tundra advice!

Dumb question, perhaps, but why steel? Is it just aesthetics or is there a functional reason? No idea if a hub-to-lug centric spacer exists... No idea how that would even work, but I'm NOT an engineer.

6 lug Pro Comp/ Visions on 1st gen Tundra advice!

how about looking for hub centric steel wheels? Perhaps factory spares? In my experience, lug centric wheels on hub-centric vehicles often lead to time spent looking for source of weird vibrations.

2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD ORP Dashboard Replacement

Maybe it's my old age and bad eyes... That doesn't look like a scratch to me. Looks like the discoloration is between the high points on the dash???

GX470 Unsprung weight grenading rear diff

Doesn't it have the 8.4" already? I thought all v8's from 00+ got the "8.4" (i know it's not really 8.4, but it's the common vernacular for it....)

1st Gen Tundra and Sequoia use the same components as well... and are (IIRC) heavier.

GX470 Unsprung weight grenading rear diff

IMHO - you're overthinking it. I've put literally hundreds of thousands of miles on Toyota 8" diffs with everything from 31 to 37" tires. Drive like an idiot, sure... maybe. Ignore routine maintenance, sure... maybe. Get water in the diff, sure... But as long as it's setup correctly, you...
