Early 22r is pre-84. The 84+ block has a lower deck.
Personally, I think there are much better ways to get power. the hybrid is high-rpm focused, IIRC.
I have PRP Daily Driver's in my xtracab. Affordable, comfortable.
Having said that, they sit a tad too low for me... and they make getting in and out of the truck a PITA. I also had to modify the seat belt mounts to make things work.
If i were to do it again, I'd definitely go with something...
Turning radius is important as well. My tacoma/4runner have better turning radius than my JK... helps make up for some additional length.
one size does not fit all, for sure. I use my 5' box tacoma more than I do the 6.75' box in the f350...

I'm not sure I'm following... All Tacoma's since 1995.5 have drivers-drop transfer cases. Same with 1996+ 4Runners. They also have the A340F transmission.
