I boosted the wire size up. Voltage drop on the input is more significant to the overall output as well as getting the controller to start. I'll also connect (Anderson plugs) two 50' for 100'.
I made a panel swivel with a pcs of 1/2" plywood with 1/4" bolt in the middle. It sat on a pcs of 3/16" alum with a hole in the middle that was bolted to my roof rack. It failed right away because I didn't want to park my truck in the sun. These days I use 50' (tinned wire) extension cords...
I've seen 4mm alum stretch/oil can over bracing that was 12" OC. It took about 5 years for it to happen.
I'd add another row of rivets between the existing but staggerd so the rivets are in/out/in.
Yeah you can't feed the same devices from both banks. In the end I think you'll be removing the AGM.
There are temp disconnects but you have to make sure the relay triggers everything (BMS / solar controller / DC-DC charger).
For start up (bringing the bank up to temp before a winter...
hood/roof of a truck......in fact anywhere.
My 330W Panasonic HIT (19%) panels are 42lbs each.
Four of the panels are portable. That's means moving & and storing 165lbs that takes up 8" x 3' x 5' against a wall. Something thin/light could be hung from the ceiling of a compartment.
When...
Combining FLA and Lithium is like running both a gas and propane generator together. Can be done but what would be the reasons to do so.
Edit...the price vs. one time risk of damage at low temp is why I didn't go with Lithium.
2mm Aluminum is really really thin for a floor. It might not oil can if the bracing is 5"- 6" OC or it is fully supported with foam.
Yeah I can see $1000 now..... that center drain trough is as much work as the SS pan. It has to be welded vs. the pan can be formed
Surprise Stainless is so much all it needed was a cross break and the premier flange formed. No welding except for the drain
Not sure if you know but the aluminum pan needs to be welded one side then backcut ( a saw is best but if a grinding wheel is used it needs to be wire wheeled with...
Good to read your trip report.
I spent 3 months looking/thinking then I bought a new WR250R. I have the 4.3G IMS tank on order but I can see it won't be enough.
Edit.......looks like I should get larger foot plate for the kickstand.
The dump valve is typical but not the FW tank. Our valves were similar so pulled the tanks and re-plumbed everything. We have 18" of ground clearance and I added a valve at the end as a saftey and so grey water can be gravity fed into the black tank. Like one of these...
In my quest for a sub 300lb primary off road motorcycle I looked at EV and gas. Tried to get a Super Serpa but the price for good 13YO bike is almost the same as a new bike...except for the taxes.
The dealer had me try a Zero FX. It had amazing power and torque compared to a Yamaha WR250R but I...
Off the pavement I'm in 4x4 for traction and control. Sometime I'll air down to improve the ride but not always.
The exception is on shale, fractured or blasted rock. On these roads I never air (70psi) down the 3,400lb tires on the truck. I air up the 1700lb tires to (45psi) on our Subaru...
I wouldn't leave home without our Bigfoot System. Twice this year we've had the tires 6"-8" off the ground.
Our neighbor has the Lippert system. The cylinder rods are tiny. He levels the RV side to side with wood then he levels front to back with the Lippert system.
