Good reply. I've been doing Moab trails for over 30 years using my 3B with a 1 1/2" lift. It's up to the driver. Some people tried to get me to go up a trail near here and I just turned around when it got too bad. I was out there to chack out what was around, not to rip parts off the Jeep. I did...
I don't know, I was run off of the road by a log truck. A bit busy to take pictures at the time. I had nothing to check what the angle was, and it was a bit of fun to get the Fuso back on the road. I did drive it out of the ditch. When I got to camp, I had to clean grass and dirt out of the door...
Either way you drive it, It can turn into a long day on the trail. Every vehicle on our trip had a winch, we never needed them. OK, Daniel did winch his father off of a rock. His first time using one and he wanted to use the winch rather than a tow strap. Like a one ton, crew cab 4X4 diesel...
My brother has a Pathfinder and two jeeps so I suppose he is OK. It did seem to be sort of a Toyota add. Um, I've towed or winched a couple Toyotas out of the mud with my 3B. I've winched several Jeeps too. Not saying that Toyotas are bad but sometime it is more about the driver.
It's sort of...
I dont know if I would go that far but shorter posts are much easier to read. I know I have drain bramage but I'm still around here.
Yes. I do like to mess around with languages. Even though I barely feel competant in English somedays. Yes, I typed things the way I wanted them to be. I got it...
I believe I have done that tough bit of trail you speak of, but we came from the other direction and still got two jeeps hung up on rocks. It looks like Lockhart basin road. The rest of the trail is fairly easy. We came in from Indian Creek. A nice place to camp.
We used to have some if the same stuff going on around here but it was aimed towards the oil field traffic. I know people that work in the oil patch and some that grow pot. It's not in the same area around here. All of the pot growers have green houses now and are "legal".
I probably spend more...
The Yak, sorry to say it but I came darn close to falling asleep reading what you typed. You can get off of your high horse now. The Wescotts should be able to amend their behavior or defend themselves.
I have never had any problems getting chewing tobacco (snus) through checks here or in Mexico. Perhaps, since I have a beard I am always going through extra security checks. My neighbors used to send packages to what was then East Germany and fill up the remaining areas with popcorn kernals...
We rode three Harleys to Puerto Penasco several years ago. I think all of us had a hangover from the previous evening. We rolled into town, parked the bikes, ran a cable through all three and paid a guy running a stand to watch them. It would have taken several big Hombres to lift three Harleys...
If you are running an automatic, I would consider a temp guage. If your transmission was overheating, it would raise your engine temp as well since both are cooled by the radiator.
An old trailering trick is the aux transmission fluid cooler. Just be sure you put it in the line going to the...
My old '94 fuso has the 2 speed transfer case, 5 speed manual and 5.714 axles. I rarely use low range unless the road is so rough that I need to go slower to save my innards. Backing my trailer into my yard is easier on the clutch in low range. Pulling trees in the yard, yep, 4 low. 4X4. But, I...
Comparing to my 1994 FG would be sort of pointless. No whistle in my exhaust brake. What part of AL do you live in? About ten years ago I ended up in Huntsville, towing a trailer with two motorcycles in it behind the FG so we could ride a part of the Trail of Tears route with all of them other...
My niece just spent several months in Costa Rica as an exchange student and had no problems at all, even in some of the neighboring countries. She is only 22. My brother and wife went down to visit, no problems. Some friends were down there around a year ago, no problems. As long as you...
One of our favorite camping areas is just East of Dewey Bridge about 1/4 mile on the south side of the river. I remember jumping off of the old bridge Into the river.
