With the frame made I was able to mark the back of the cab to suit... and then cut it out! Plans have changed since I originally positioned the crawl thru frame in the body, so that'll have to be moved but you get the idea...
Having the hole offset to suit the seating in the habitation area...
Today has been a day for pondering... How to build the roof rack, where the cab will sit with it all fitted, where to place the crawl thru, how to do the crawl thru etc etc... The more I add to the cab the more it'll sit back. It came up around 15mm just by removing the center seat and old AC...
Hi Alex.
I'm thinking Neil is right... Height is an important factor.. My build is sat currently at 3.55m tall (50mm over the intended max), and it looks huge! A Mog with a shorter wheel base and a slightly narrower box would make a 4m height very tall and ungainly.. I'd think revisiting...
I'd like the front bars, but the original raised air intake on the truck sits flush (if not slightly forward) of the front bumper face... If I ran the bars, they'd be in front of everything else. I've settled on something like this... Just got to make it now! :)
Hi Spanna 53.
This was talked about at some point... The twin snorkel look on a truck would be good! I think I had a chat with Neil. Trying to find the genuine RH upright air intake is the hard bit! If anyone has one, I'm interested! :)
Right... I've changed ends, and am now looking to the cab and how to make a roof rack sit on top and merge in with the body without looking like I've bunged a Laundry Basket style Roof rack on top!! I've stripped the beacon bar and top (battered) air intake box off the cab so it's suddenly a...
With the brackets welded in place I could fit the spares for the first time. The holding dishes are yet to be finished and will have a bit more structure to them eventually, but they're fine for now.
Today was spent making the wheel securing plates and fitting them to the mast. I was trying to think of a light but secure way of holding the wheels to the carrier. Then I remembered these front wheel trims. Perfect!
It fits!! Here's the bumper in situ! The second pic has the block and tackle chain running thru the hole as intended. It also shows the recovery points. Hidden but reachable.
Hi Jon.
Great pic! Very envious!! Re the oil, it's more often than not, the engine breather not the turbo (which is a good thing!!)... This breather usually feeds into the inlet pipe just prior to the turbo somewhere... In engines that are slightly older they can 'breathe' quite...
Hello! Pictures tell a thousand words... I'd think it would be worth more as a camper, seeing what they're selling for (so long as it's of a high quality)... but I'm no expert! Certainly, the Ag world has predominantly moved on from Mogs. New Fendt tractors and JCB Fastrac's are capable of...
So the bumper is finally done! The first pic is from behind the bumper with the two hidden lockers, and the second pic is the rear face with sunken lights and rego plate recesses.
