Vehicle Modding Is Dead In the European Union; Now What?

Though getting better, battery technology and charging infrastructure is the main limiting factors for electric power. Until that is resolved, ICE will stay around.

Second Alternator Charging Lithium Battery Bank

Not sure this is the actual case. Yes the B2B won't care but I do think the alternator will. There might be some that have built in protection but other might not. Not sure I would want to test that on my own system. :)

Second Alternator Charging Lithium Battery Bank

Having done some researching into this type of setup for my M1010 (which has dual alts), I had looked into dedicating one alt to the LifePO4 house packs, independent of the vehicle system. A few things I have found I would consider during the build out of a stand alone house system. First...

    Desert Turtle - M1010 Build

First official camper item installed. Wife and I got the awning installed. Installation went well and had it done in about an hour and a half. Very happy that is done. Much rather store it on the truck than in the garage. LOL I think I will fab up a tree branch guard at the front edge, so...

pop rivet & nut setting toolS recommendations wanted

Nutsert fasteners are to allow you to use a screw or bolt into a blind surface or thin metal. It is not a "rivet" to fasten pieces together. Two different uses and applications. Rivets come in a large variety of grip ranges. You want to find the grip range for the project you are using.

Interior Walls and Ceiling Material Ideas Needed

Thanks everyone with info so far. @Roaddude Interesting. Thanks for the real world use and longevity you have been seeing. That might ended up being a good option. Definitely cost effective. @BritKLR If you look in my original post, I already talked with a local supplier of ABS and got a...

Interior Walls and Ceiling Material Ideas Needed

Hi all, I have finally fully gutted my M1010 ambulance and am getting ready to start building up the interior. The box is all aluminum using Z channel stud walls and roof, skinned in sheet aluminum. I am planning to use XPS (if I can find locally, which I am having a hard time of) or EPS foam...

Flatbed conversion, camper design for light weight camper, heavy person.

I was just giving you something to check, not that it can't be done. Way too many people "Think" they weigh less then what actually happens in the end. Knowing real numbers is all that matters. I just finished completely stripping the box on my M1010 project and took it to get weighed today...

Flatbed conversion, camper design for light weight camper, heavy person.

Wishing you the best but honestly a 1/2 ton truck is not going to be a good fit for a flatbed/camper build unless you leave the camper empty. It is very surprising how quickly weight adds up. Before you get too far down this road, load up all the gear, food, water, etc in the bed and go weigh...

    Desert Turtle - M1010 Build

Finished fulling gutting the box and cleaning up some. Started taping floor plan and mocking up fridge, heater, water heater and stove. I think my layout ideas are going to work.

    Desert Turtle - M1010 Build

Another piece of a very large puzzle came in. New Fiamma F45s awning. It is the 8.5' version, since the box is 9' long. I didn't want it hanging off the ends. It will be wall mounted.

    Over-family-landing composite F-550 build

That AT rig looks nice but looking at a few of the details from the link, I have some questions about their design idea. I am seriously thinking the amount of room over the bed is going to be to tight for the person sleeping at the front of the camper. The angled roof looks great but takes...
