    Saline Valley Trip, Feb. 13-16

This trip had it roots started back in Jan. 2013 when a small group of us made a trek to the Saline Valley hot springs. That trip only included a overnight stop on our travels for that trip. As we all were soaking in the tubs, comments were made that we really need to do a trip and spend more...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

If I keep it below 70mph, I am getting 16-17mpg of freeway only driving. If I do a mix of off highway/on highway, I'm about 14-15mpg. That's sitting at 8500 lbs. and the aerodynamics of a brick. :D

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

No, not since the steering linkage upgrade. Truck has been running well. I have some plans for later in the year but need to finish up a couple of other car projects I have. I did get some portable solar panels setup but no pics.

Any benefit to remote reservoir shocks?

I installed Bilstein 5160 remote rev. shocks to help control the heat, given I am close to GVW all the time. I know I end up on a lot of wash board roads, which will really heat up shocks. Though it was a much higher cost, I have not once regreted it out on the trails. If I was only doing...

    Dodge 2500 winch bumper?

Yeah, the old Warn bumpers were sweet. I even took some pics of one when I was out camping once, just in case I decided to build my own, it would give me some reference. Outside the price, Denver Offroad would be the one I would be buying. I just can't justify a 1/3 of the cost I paid for the...

    Dodge 2500 winch bumper?

Push bars are not the same as a full bumper. Push bar work fine for mounting winches, lights and such but hit something at speed (like a deer) and you'll find out how much damage they tend to do. They tend to rotate back into the hood, grill and fenders. This is well documented over the...

    Dodge 2500 winch bumper?

Yeah, I have seen them and seriously thought about a front one. This is definitely the cheapest you'll find but you're also comparing apple to oranges. A weld it yourself is not the same as buying one ready to bolt on. I did buy a weld together one for my Cherokee (much smaller then a full...

1999 Dodge 2500 CTD Build AKA Priscilla

Welcome to the US, Californina, ExPo and to the Dodge truck world. :) Without questions, shocks should be Bilstein. I have owned both over the years and I am using Bilstein exclusively. Last shocks you will need to buy. I bought BFG AT for our Ram and have been very happy with them. The...

    Dodge 2500 winch bumper?

$1000, heck that would be a deal. Most I have found (for my '97) are in the $1500-$2500 range, with the cheapest of those being an ARB.

New Four Wheel UTE Flat Bed Model Coming Soon ...

I have been SERIOUSLY thinking of cutting the bed the same way and then installing storage boxes. I even thought of leaving the bottom half of the fender so it might "blend in" a little better.

OBD II reader. Best bang for the buck?

I just bought this and it works great. Cleared code on my S-I-L '03 Kia Optima, checked my '06 Mazda (which some readers won't do due to Ford/Mazda code). It will also do many ABS and SRS systems and does live reading. If you want to try it out, come on by. :)...

Getting camper on and off the truck.

I have the corner jacks and they mount with 3 bolts each. I just bolt them on when I need to remove the camper (extremely rarely) and unbolt them when it's on the truck. Only adds about 10 minutes to the whole time.

New ARB winch bumper for 2011+ Ford Super Duty's

Hey at least they get the option of just a bumper, with the center bar and adding the extra wings. '94-'01 Dodge Ram only gets the "Sahara" bar model, which I hate. Ford of the same year and similar style bumper gets the standard bar setup like you expect on an ARB.

8 foot popup in a 6.5 foot bed?

People have been doing it for decades. Like you said, you need to be mindful of the CG behind the axle and setup your suspension to handle this (stiffer springs, air bags, etc.). You'll want to get most of the weight to the forward part of the camper. I would also recommend some tailgate...

    Cab to Camper Pass Through???

You might want to check out a CUCV M1010 setup. It used a 9' long box with a cab pass thru and the box had its own sliding door to close the cab from the box. Pass thru Box after gutting it Rig size Size comparision to the '97 Dodge Ram with FWC setup I bought to use, selling the M1010...

245/75R16 Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo tire SET with or without Rover Alloys

No affiliation with the seller but I can vouch for how well these tires worked for us on our Cherokee. Quite on the highway, worked great offroad. About the only area we ever had a problem was in sand dunes. Buddy with BFG AT's only made it 20' futher up the dune then I did. :)
