    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Yeah, it seems tighter. Not sure if that's just due to new parts versus 152,000 mile ones. Really should see a difference offroad as the tires should stay pointed in the same direction. :) I am doing new hubs, rotors, calipers, pads, SS flex lines and studs. Closer to $800 but all high end...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

After our Death Valley trip in March, I noticed the steering wheel being off about 15-20*. I think I bent part of the steering linkage on the trail. Since this was all original 152,000 mile linkage, it was time to upgrade. After a lot of research, I went with the '99 Dodge 2500 HD linkage...

GOVE Global Overland Vehicle Economical build.

Nice build up! Looks like that White Rim trip was great. Unbelievable about the Rickson wheel coming apart like that. That is just beyond crazy. I would think the DOT should investigate this as this is dangerous on so many levels. This type of failure should never occur and I don't think I...

    Tube benders

Heck, had I known that and if your bends are 90* or less, I have a bender that will do that size (only have a 1.5" die). Sould have hit me up. Could have done it for free. :)

Insurance advice for Tacoma with Four Wheel Camper UTE

Since you haven't filled out your profile to indicate where you are located, this info is for CA. Having just done this, I was able to change my truck with FWC from a standard commerical tag (which all trucks in CA are) to an RV classification. This elimiated the weight penitalty but I can...

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

stevo-mt I actually have an aluminum military medicine cabinet that I originally was going to use in my M1010 but never did and sold the rig. I can get you a pic and some dimensions and if interested, try to get a deal that works for both of us. It's not as deep as the ones you linked to...

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

What do you mean? I had bought the rig, decided it was going to be more work/money then I wanted to put into it, bought a different truck and camper and sold the M1010 off to someone else. He never really followed up with what he was doing, so I have no idea what happened with it once it was...

Spied: 2015 Chevy Colorado (10 new photos, taken 7/2013)

Yeah, I don't understand with the high price of fuel today, it seems everything is getting bigger and heavier and trucks really are leading this. I miss the size of the old Toyota's, Nissan Hardbodies, Chevy S10's, etc. I liked the styling of this last gen Colorado but didn't like the standard...

ok guys, I need some suggestions on trail tire pressure

I never run without the camper so yes, this is with the camper loaded all the time. As for as ride between my dirt and street pressure, it's a huge difference. Unless I am only traveling a short distance on dirt (less than 10 miles), I will air down for ride comfort and to keep from rattling...

ok guys, I need some suggestions on trail tire pressure

I run 55-60psi street and 35-40psi dirt (depends on the main type we will travel on for most of the trip. Soft/sandy, lower). BTW, I am using one of those "$60 compressors" and it takes about 20-25 minutes to air up. I have a 1HP beast that I haven't found a good place to mount yet, which...

Tires: C,D, or E YES but do I really need AT?

Keep in mind that the C, D and E load rating, you shouldn't just look at max capacity. The higer the letter, the stiffer the sidewall will end up. With a camper on and loaded up, the stiffer sidewall will prevent excess sway which makes driving much easier. My E rated BFG AT's look almost the...

Tires: C,D, or E YES but do I really need AT?

Given the camper, I would go no less than a D rated tire. These will have a firmer sidewall and resist sway motion. With the camper off, you can just lower your air pressure (especially in the rear) to help keep the ride nice. Not knowing what size tires/wheels you have now, I can't tell you...

Operation Oxcart AKA Gini's Burden-A Four Wheel Camper story

Nice swap. You'll love the FWC. We love ours. BTW, I have stayed in that BW Space Age Lodge and eaten a few times in the resturant. LOL I think the heat does weird things to people... :)

2007 Dodge Cummins "Power Wagon" Camper

Nice looking Dodge! That bumper is from Denver Offroad. It's aluminum and is very strong but light weight. I have seriously been wanting one but at about $2300, I just haven't been able to justify it.

A new twist on bed mounted RTT's

Could you use a ratching tie down and hook to the front of the tent mount and to the back hoop. Then you can ratch it up to a point that you can then pull it by hand. Maybe a come-a-long if needs to be more heavy duty.
