    How's your day been?

My buddy kept finding his guinies and chickens with no heads, the body completey intact??? He sat up one night and he shot this huge owl, which turned out to be protected. The owl was beautiful. Huge claws, beautiful feathers... We realized it was killing chickens that we paid 50 cents for...

    Hitch Gate spare tire carrier

It really sits back. I'd look for something that is closer to the hatch. I wonder how hard it would be to put the tire on the inside of the upright?

    SYE Advice

I've done 2 xjs and a yj, but pulled them all. It seem easier to get the oil pump/tube to line up right when TC is sitting upright on a bench. It is also easier to get a nice clean bead of RTV. I think it's just easier than laying on the floor

    YJ rear tow hook

If it is a YJ (square headlight) your options are more limited. As stated above, the rear cross member is weak. If you tie to it, also make sure you also tie into the frame rail from below. Your current hitch is probably using this hole.

Jeep preventative maintenance - what to change at 170K miles?

I agree, do the clutch. It is actually not a bad DIY project provided you can rope a buddy to help. There are 2 bolts at the top of the bell housing that no socket will fit right. They are reverse torx:(

    WTB: 4.0 airbox

The project that never ends..... John B hooked me up with a perfect 4.0 box:wings: Thank you so much. I went to put it in and realized my cherokee PS pump has the resivour in the wrong place. I ordered a YJ pump w/resivour from the junk yard. To my suprise, it is a remote resivour. Does...

Thoughts on tires, tall or wide, advantages?

Isn't the idea of the camel trophy truck to prove what that vehicle is capable of stock? More of a drivers test? If you were going to build a truck to compete on that same course in an "Umlimited class" would you build the same vehicle?

Thoughts on tires, tall or wide, advantages?

We should define what wide is then, like width as a percentage of the height??? When I look at any race vehicle, I see a wider tire than whatever would have been stock on that vehicle style. 33x9.5 is 29% 33x10.5 is 32% 33x11.5 is 35% 33x12.5 is 38% 33x13.5 is 41% 33x14.5 is 44%...

Thoughts on tires, tall or wide, advantages?

I've often heard that skinny tires give better traction, but I can't figure out why the pros use wider tires. Desert race trucks, rock crawlers, sprint cars, mud boggers, late models all use wider tires. You might say that race vehicles are big horsepower, but some rock buggys use 75 hp saturn...

    New Trailor Project

I picked this beauty up for free. Our local cable company got bought by Comcast and this orphan got lost in the shuffle:) It actually is too far gone to fix if you had to pay someone and they lost:( the title, so I picked it up. It had a 12' diameter satelitle dish mounted to it. The base...

    Eagle has landed

I don't have any experience with military trailors but Iv'e had 3 car or utility trailors. Bearings are not difficult to change and it's a handy skill if one goes while your away from home. Most need repacking at some interval, repacking and changing are essentially the same job. Good Luck
