Talk me out of a Power Wagon

Your right the ram does turn allot tighter than the ford, it’s a huge difference. If you need room and bed capacity ford has that. As for my friends truck, that’s a good question, I’ll have to take a look next time I see him, I wonder if he has 4:30’s.

Talk me out of a Power Wagon

Ram builds a very good reliable truck, the 6.4 with the 8speed is a good set up. I can tell you from experience, they are reliable but suck the fuel.

Talk me out of a Power Wagon

So I have a friend with the same truck as you suggest, comparing that to my 7.3 with a 10 speed, I get better mpg, more power and a simpler engine. My truck on 35’s with 4:30 gears gets the same mpg as his 6.2 xlt f250. Now with the 7.3 out, I see no reason for a 6.2 powered truck.

Talk me out of a Power Wagon

Having owned a 19 fully loaded power wagon and now an 2021 XLT 7.3 tremor I can tell you the loaded ford will cost dramatically more. I paid 55k for my power wagon, granted that was pre COVID mess and I bought my xlt tremor for 56k, pre chip shortage… I was just offered 60k for my tremor, which...

    Ford Tremor Fighter...2022 Silverado ZR2

GM sure builds the ugliest trucks on the planet, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I’ve never heard anyone anywhere comment on how good looking the new GM trucks are.

Ram 3500 High Output Cummins Build on 37's

Put a load on the truck on a hill and if your trans downshifts allot you’ll want gears. As for the axles, yes all HO cummins trucks should have the 11.8 ring gear… everyone and every piece of litature I read said that, when I did my gear swap, my truck had the 10.8 ring gear (my truck was an HO...

Ram 3500 High Output Cummins Build on 37's

You can buy OEM 4:10 gears, nitro has (or at least had) OEM gear sets. On my 16 ram cummins HO I ran 37x13:50 and 4:30 gears which was perfect… you may find that you will want at least 4:10’s.

The new 7.3 - how is it

Yeah I noticed that on my 7.3 as well, you should hear one with a stainless works exhaust on it.

Would this Chevy Silverado 3500 be a good purchase?

thats a fair price for that truck.

$2.85 a gallon for 87 octane here today.

The new 7.3 - how is it

I have 10,000 miles on my 7.3 f250, zero problems. Overall I real like it, I get 14 to 15 mpg on the highway which I don’t think is bad for a huge truck with 4:30 gears and 35 inch tires. The 7.3 has plenty of power and hardkey downshifts on hills or pulling a load. Engine is real simple and...

Is an F250 6.2 V8 Gas Reliable Enough?

And should be more reliable in the long term due to a much simpler design. The 5.0 in my 17 f150 take home vehicle just had its cam fasers (?) replaced, it was a costly bill.

Is an F250 6.2 V8 Gas Reliable Enough?

Yeah they are all about the same as far as fuel economy really. People say the 7.3 gas is bad on fuel, but it gets roughly the same fuel economy as a friends older half ton Chevy.

    Decisions

I’ve owned several ram trucks and all have been problem free, they are a very solid platform that has an undeserved reputation. I’ll be really curious to see what trans goes behind the refresh hd ram.

    Superduty Antenna cracks Windshield

I agree that’s a poor design, plus the antenna is like 6 feet long, i got rid of mine day one.

    Suspension Modifications F350

I got a f250 with a 7.3 , 4:30 gears and factory 35 inch tires (tremor). Ride is stiff but not harsh and it handles very well for what it is. Put a load in the bed and the truck rides awesome, I suggest Leaving it alone, put a camper in the bed and try it out. FYI you’ll love the 7.3 espically...

Truck recommendation for TC and pulling bass boat

Any gas 3/4 ton would work fine. Just towed my Boston whaler which is probably a tad heavier about 300 miles. Just drove it in normal drive mode at 70 on the interstate and got 13.5 mph.

    Best Platform

If you go with a gas ram truck, you will probably hate the dial shifter. The 6.4 hemi is a good engine, but it does suck gas and the MDS is very annoying. Oddly my f250 tremor on 35’s with the 7.3 gets better mpg than my 19 ram 6.4 did. for gas truck, get a Ford with the 7.3, for a diesel, wait...

Which new 1 Ton Diesel would you buy?

Sure, how long will that take? At work we have a bunch of aluminum bodied ford trucks (2017+), they sit outside, are driven in salty roads and get washed about 3 times a year, all still look fine.

Which new 1 Ton Diesel would you buy?

You are 100% correct! on a side note I think the aluminum body of the ford trucks is a selling point for me, don’t have to worry about rust.
